I am looking for information on the Eckersleys who lived at 16 robert stanley st Bolton in 1881, in 1891 they lived at 3shuttle st Bolton and again in 1901,
the head of the family william Eckersley, his wife Mary Ann,children John William, Frederick, Jane alice
Akbert Edward, Evelyn, Walter, and Elizabeth.

ECKERSLEYS FROM PRESTWICH, LANCASHIRE,ENGLAND

I was surprised and excited to find ECKERSLEY families in Utah from the LDS ancestor files. My family remained in England while 3 or 4 from Prestwich, Radcliffe, Oldham, Farnworth and Kearsley emigrated to the U.S. and Australia. Because of large number of Eckersleys with same first names in this area of Lancs. around 1800 it is very hard to prove links into 1700's. My interests are Thomas and Mary, George and Alice - all living in Prestwich around 1810. However, I collect all data on any ECKERSLEYS pre-1800 and try to assemble family groups from evidence available. I'd be delighted to hear from any descendents from Lancashire.

ECKERSLEYS of LOWTON, LANCS

I'm looking for any information about the Eckersleys of Lowton in Lancashire. I have traced them back to Richard (B:1720 D:1780) who married a Mary ?. The Eckersleys have lived in Lowton for centuries. My ancestors featured very heavily in the Primitive Methodist church, and Richard (B:1804 D:1892) was a very popular preacher. He married Betty Bridge. I know there are several Eckersleys still living in the town, so hopefully they have some more information.

Eckersley's in Wigan

My Eckersley's seem to have been in Wigan for quite a few generations. I am however stuck at William Eckersey (b: Abt 1825) married Margaret Howard (b; Abt 1826) and had three children that I am aware of. I am related to this line. William seems to have remarried in 1855 to a Sarah Ann Gaskell (b: abt 1830) and wen ton to have a further 9 children.

Any help would be appreciated. I have also found a link to Barton upon Irwell aswell. Which makes sense as we found a 'postcard' in an old box of Williams daugther in law from here, and the family story is that John (the son of William) worked in a cotton mill as a bookkeeper. This was directly told to us by me g grandmother who only died in 1985.

there are 2 possible births in bolton lancashire in 1878, one of them could be my father.
his first marriage produced 2 children william and
louise, his wife died and he married my mother
rose amelia halliwell in 1932 they had 2 sons
ronald and jack. i would be greatful for any info
about his early years

My grandmother was Alice Eckersley, 1874-75, Halshaw Moor or Walton Le Dale, Lancashire. Daughter of John Eckersley, 1846, Horwich, Lancashire and Ellen King, 1848, Ringley, Lancashire.

we are looking for any information on a john and catherine eckersley that lived in earlestown, they had we believe two daughters annie and elizabeth alice eckersley and a son called john francis eckersley. We also believe john had a son before he married catherine called thomas eckersley. According to the 1901 census, thomas was living in billinge with his sons albert, william and ellis.

Norman married Aurielia Higginbottom and they lived in Bolton. (Aureilia moved from Yorkshire).

Norman possibly born late 1800's (only one listed on 1901 census - this is probably him)

I am a great grandaughter of Rev. James Eckersley and am having alot of trouble finding any records of him. From the family bible, I know that he was born on August 1, 1854 in Yorkshire, England. His mother's maiden name was Sarah Oldroyd. He immigrated to Pennsylvania, U.S.A. at an unknown time and married Cornelia Gerard in 1853. They had 4 sons and a daughter (Wilfred, James Robertson, William Arthur-my grandfather, Wilbur Stanley, John Harold and Cornelia) I am looking for info on who my great grandfather's father was, if he had any siblings, and also where are the children of John Harold and Cornelia. I am looking for any descendants of John Eckersley & Mary Harrison. They had a child named Thomas (any other siblings unknown) who was born about 1836 in Liverpool. (Place of birth stated on his marriage certificate) He emigrated to Australia via Boston USa in June 1860. He married ELizabeth Keays in 1862 they had 5 children Emily, Alice, Thomas, William and CHarles. Thomas later marrked Sarah Monk after Elizabeth died. Would love contact from any one who thinks they may be related to this family. Information on the UK to Boston part of his life journey would be most welcome.
