Hi Ron,
My Great Great Grandfather THOMAS ECKERSLEY gave his birth place as Liverpool, Lancashire England circa 1836. He was the son of JOHN ECKERSLEY a blacksmith and MARY HARRISON. He came to Melbourne, Victoria Australia on board the ship “Guiding Star” in 1860 via Boston.
He went to the Victorian Goldfields where he married ELIZABETH KEAYS in Mansfield, Victoria on September 1862. They had the following children:-
EMILY (MARION) born 1864
ALICE born 1865
THOMAS ALFRED born 1870
William born 1872
CHARLES born 1876.
I would be very interested to learn if you had come across any information on Thomas and his parents John ECKERSLEY and Mary HARRISON.
