Martz Echard, whom he married on March 8, 1944, in Cumberland. Md. Harry was a loving and proud father. In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his three children, Virginia L. Echard Kochis and her husband Joseph M. Kochis, Donald E. Echard and his wife Shelby Echard, and Barbara J. Smith and her husband Larry Smith; his special grandchildren, Joe Kochis Jr. and his wife Jody, Jeff Kochis and his wife Emily, Jaime Dengel and her husband Jack, Christopher Smith and his wife Lisa, and Jason Smith and his wife Yana; his very special great-grandchildren, Owen and Claire Kochis, and Lindsey and Wesley Smith; and his brother, Harold R. Echard, of Connellsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene G. and John Echard. Harry was a lifelong faithful and devoted member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scottdale and was one of the oldest surviving active members. He served as a Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years and was an usher and lay leader until recently. Harry was a shoe repairman since the age of 13, and recently sustained a fall in November 2010. He had the knack of bringing many, many customers' shoes back to life and fixing any miscellaneous items his customers brought to him. He is now fixing shoes in heaven as earthly soles are now united with heavenly souls! His family meant the world to him and he to us. Our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend is now walking with his Lord and Savior. A special thank you is extended to his friend and doctor, Dr. Mark Williams. At the request of the decedent, there will be no public viewing, visitation or service. Private interment will take place in Greenlick Cemetery. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, (
