I had been unable to trace for one of my G Grandfather's brothers for many years: not vital but annoying. He was a Frank Ecclestone, seaman RN, born in Plymouth England in 1864. He had bought his discharge in 1888, after which - nothing. Armed with this thoughtful posting of yours I have now found his immigration record to US (1889) and his family (including wife Martha) in your 1910/1920 censuses. Wonderful! Very many thanks. Regards, Gillen

I am interested in the Ecclestones of Ellenhall as I may have just established that John Ecclestone was also a son of John and Jane Ecclestone.

John Ecclestone moved from Staffordshire down to Warwick where he died in 1819. My gg grandfather William, his son emigrated to Australia in 1853.

Thanks for the message boards.

Liz Darcey

Update: Ecclestone from Ellenhall, Staffordshire, England 1800s

John ECCLESTONE was born in Seighford around 1801 and he married Mary HARRISON in 1831. John's father was Charles Ecclestone (1771-1847) and his mother was Hannah STANTON (1772-1857). In turn, Charles was most likely the son of John Ecclestone and Jane PARTON who married at Haughton in 1759. The line *may* go back to Humphrey Ecclestone marrying Catherine PEAKE in 1699.
John Ecclestone & Mary Harrison's children consisted of:
Henry, Hannah, Ellen, Mark, Susannah, Luke, Fanny, Myra and Ruth.
Do get in touch if any of this sounds familiar.

My thanks-
Garen.
