My paternal grandmother was Eliza ECCLESHALL b.1889 Hackney.

I have been tracing back my ancestors for 30 years and I became stuck with my gt-gt-gt-grandfather William ECCLESHALL b.c.1792/3 Middlesex? - could not trace baptism nor death/burial only marriage.

I have yet to establish a link beween my London ECCLESHALLs and those from other parts. Reputedly the ECCLESHALLs appear to have originated from Eccleshall, Staffordshire.

So I decided to transcribe the GRO BMD indexes for ECCLESHALLs and now have them from 1837-1940.

I have been in contact with Bernard Beech who runs the One Name Study for ECCLESHALLs and has many records on computer. I've extended the BMD coverage that he had begun.

I will email Bernard to let him know your interests as he has more info on the pre-1837 records - he also sent me this info too - which I have combined with my BMD data.

I will gather any more info that I have on your families and post it in a while!

Please do let me know what further you find on ECCLESHALLs to add to my database - it may help others (and maybe me) to find more relatives.

Regards, Mike
