Hi Michael

The best way to start finding out about your family history is to ask your relatives!

I have only 3 Christopher ECCLESHALLs in my database.
Most of the records pre-date 1945 (except for my own family).

Anyway send me your father's and your birthdates and I'll check again
If you can send me your grandparents names and birthdates (and birthplaces) I will probably find them for you...

Yes thanks - I did know of the Any-Web site.

Cheers, Mike

PS As for pronouncing ECCLESHALL well - it probably depends on where the family lived and what accent they had!

My ancestors were from the East End of London and my grandmother was an ECCLESHALL. My father said they pronounced it Eccles-all - but perhaps the H 'ad been dropped when saying Eccles-hall - Cockneys would do that!

I believe Eccle-shall is used by many.

How do your family pronounce it?
