My great grandfathers name was Frank Ebare. His son Nelson Ebare (my grandfather) was married to Mary Mesick. My father was Louis Leo Ebare, born in Mooers Forks, Clinton County, New York on 3/15/1894. His siblings were Samuel, Frank, Fred, Victoria and Margaret (Maggie) Does anyone have any info on these people? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi James - Thank you for the info on my Uncle Sam. I didn't know him very well and unfortunatly I have lost touch with most of my relatives. Do you have any info on my Grandmother, Mary Mesick. I know her fathers name was Andrew and that she had a brother Joseph (Uncle Joe). Also other brothers whose names I think were Henry and Andrew. She probably had other siblings too. I never knew her. She died when my father was still little. My e-mail address is louma16@aol.com. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Surnames: Ebare
Hello,

My great grandfather was Samuel Ebare. His wife's name was Elizabeth. He had 3 children, my grandfather was his son Purley (d. 1973). He passed away in 1968(?) I have been looking to link back to the branch of the family that moved to Michigan. Any information you could provide would be most helpful.

Thanks

Narcisse Hubert married Marie Foucreau dit Meseck 1879 or 1880 probably in Mooers Forks. The marriage was blessed 29-02-1885 in Champlain (St.Mary's church). Parents of Narcisse (born ca 1863 in Mooers) are Frank Hubert and Virginia Snyder. Parents of Frank Hubert are David Hubert and Euphemie Patry. Parents of David are Jean-Baptiste Hubert and Josephte Gauthier.

Thank you so much for the info on my ancesters. I have had a difficult time tracing my fathers fathers side of the family. I guess it was because of all the changes in the spellings of the surname. Thanks again.

Many Hebert changed their last name in USA. Abare, Abar, Abair, Ebare, Herbert, Hibbard and many others kept the name Hebert. In Quebec, we have only Hebert families.

I would like to add that many Hubert families (even in Quebec) changed their name to Hebert (or variations of Hebert). I have a lot of Hubert families in New York State listed in census as Abare. The family of Frank Abare and Virginie Snyder (Chenail in french) is an example. But most of baptisms of the children are listed as Hubert (Mooers Forks and Champlain).

Info from Jacques Hebert shows that your Felix Ebare and my Frank Ebare were brothers. Frank was my great grandfather. Do you have any other info on this family? I was surprised to see that the original name was Hubert. Thanks to Jacques I was at least able to get the names of my ancesters back to Rene Hubert. Several generations!! I was looking in all the wrong places before!!
