Hi
My grandparents lived in Lorraine OH, then moved to a small town called Elmore, OH. My grandfather was Walter Easler and he was married to my grandmother Euba Katherine Davis. Their son is my dad, Walter C. Easler, who moved to California. He has three children: Robert J. Easler, Lori J. Easler (me), and William J. Easler. Hope that helps to answer your questions.
I do have a family tree that I will have to pull out to look at to get the names of my great-great grandfathers. I remember my grandfather telling me that there were twin boys in Germany. One came to the USA, while the other stayed in Germany. I believe sometime later the other twin came.
It is my understanding that by tracing the Easler ancestry, it was discovered that the Easler family owned slaves. When the slaves were freed, they took the last name of their "owner". I don't mean to offend anyone with this information, but just FYI, my family is Caucasian. I am aware of an African-American woman also named Lori Easler, who is married and using her husband's last name, and lives near Ohio. Just wanted to clarify that we are two different people in case you happen to find her name during your ancestry search.
