Sorry for the very long delay in responding. Just in case you haven't received any information, this is what I came across on the Suggs Creek Cemetery in Mt. Juliet, TN. There is a grave for an Edmond Eakes b. Jan 20, 1800 - d. Jun 7, 1852. Also a grave for George Eakes b. Apr 19, 1861 d. (is blank). I found a webpage that someone had put together when they went through the cemetery and logged the graves:

There are a few Eakes & Eaks in there. I was told that the spelling of "Eaks" was used to distinguish themselves as Dutch when they came to the USA. The "Eakes" is supposedly the ones from England.
