JULY 22, 1943
Flora Eleanor Dolin died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Christine Eaker, in Chatsworth, Saturday, July 17 at 1 p.m.
Funeral services were held in the First Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. F.L. Buchanan, of Minonk. Burial was in the Chatsworth cemetery. the casket bearers were August Schnittker and Foster Crider, of St. Louis, Mo.; Amos Assey, of Thawville; Thomas Hoagland, of Kankakee, and Daniel Kerber and Clarence Bayston, of Chatsworth.
Mrs. Dolin's home was in St. Louis and she had been in failing health for the past six years. When her condition became serious in May, she expressed a wish to be brought to the home of her mother in Chatsworth, so she was brought in an ambulance June 19. Her condition became steadily worse until death relieved her sufferings.
Flora Eleanor Eaker was born in Zalma, Missouri, August 21, 1905, and came to the Chatsworth neighborhood with her parents in her early girlhood. She graduated from the Chatsworth high school in 1926. Following graduation she was employed for two years in the Pontiac shoe factory. She was married in April, 1928, to August Dolin, of St. Louis, and they went to that city to live and continued to reside there since. She was a member of the First Baptist church in Chatsworth and made many friends wherever she was, as was evidenced by the receipt of two huge bouquets of flowers from St. Louis friends after her burial.
She is survived by her husband, of St. Louis; her mother and sister, Nellie, of Chatsworth; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Steinbach, of Los Angeles, California; and one brother, Glenn, of Los Angeles. One brother, Wilson, preceded her in death, May 18, 1926.
