My maternal grandmother was an Eacobacci. Caroline Lucy Eacobacci was from Massachusettes. She married Ralph Maccarello in 1937.

Caroline is one of eight children of Frank Eacobacci and Rose Cassetta (changed to Cassetti upon arrival in the New World). The children are: Joseph, Rose, Peter, Anthony, Bobby, Caroline, Annie, Margaret.

Would love to connect with family!!

My grandfather, Joseph Eacobacci, his wife Josephine, and their children, lived next door to Frank Eacobacci and his wife Rose in Massachusetts. Frank was his brother. Frank and Rose had a daughter Caroline, whom I believe is your maternal grandmother. Are you in touch with any of your mother's family?

YES! I am in contact with my mother's line. My Gramma is still with us and her family is still in Massachusettes. I would love to have a direct dialogue with you if you are willing so please mail me if you are inclined.

Gramma's sister, Anne (Auntie Annie) and her husband Uncle Hoppy (I don't know his given name) are in Weymouth. Their daughter Carole and her husband Vinny Paulanthony are my Godparents.

this is so neat! Any and all stories would be greatly appreciated!

Gina

I'm happy to hear from you and am quite willing to have a dialogue. My mother, who married Ernest Eacobacci, son of Joseph, is with me right now and has many stories which we children love hearing. She tells me that she and my father drove your grandmother, Caroline, to New York from Mass. to visit her (Caroline) sister Rose who was married to Louis Barbieri. Caroline remained in New York and eventually married Ralph Maccarello. Which of Caroline's daughters is your mother? I remember seeing Marguerite and Marie in Weymouth when both my sister and myself were visiting our grandparents. My mother and father married in New York and we were raised there. I now live in Westchester County, NY. My father's family remained in Weymouth and we have continued to visit over the years. With relatives still living on Carroll Street where Annie and Hoppy still live we would occassionally see each other. Mom tells me that Hoppy's name is Joseph Purpura. My e-mail address is jovo948@msn.com if you wish to contact me there. I would love to hear from you since any stories you may have would greatly interest me also.

My grandmother is Caroline so...is she George's sister?

I would love any and all information that you have to share. I am going to southern Italy in the Spring so I would love to know the names of any town that our people came from.

Thanks!

Yes...your grandmother, Caroline, was from Braintree Mass. to be exact and I remember her very well as I do Ray. Lived on Maitland Ave. I believe just around the corner from Wellman Ave. She was a great cook and always in the kitchen. I'm the son of Marguerite Maccarello, the daughter of John and Gladys Maccarello. I also remember your dad and your two brothers although I have not seen them in many many years. I use to come down to the cousins parties you use to have at your house in Spring Valley. I still see your mom from time-to-time. Last time I saw you you were very young. I'm sure you don't remember but I'm one of your cousins however I'm a Pelosi.

Of course I remember you! You are Margo and Ralph's son and your sister is Janice (I think... you guys were much older than me). My mom still lives in Pearl River (you were close with Spring VAlley) but I'm in Seattle now.

Write to me at my addy if you like-- alvino@u.washington.edu

If you have any family info on the Maccarellos, I would love to know it! Funny that you are here on the Eacobacci site....
