The best I can tell you is that Eacho ancestry derived from England. Exactly who came over is still a mistery to me. I know they mostly settled in Virginia (King William/Henrico county) and some went up to Maryland. The name is pronounced with a long "E" sound and long "O" sound and the H is silent.

I hope that helped you out.

Rebecca,
Hello ! I got your response to the ancestry message board posting.I tried to email you but got a damonmailer. I don't know if I can help or not. One of my GG Grandmothers' on my father's side of the family was Susan Frances { Eacho } Burch. She was the daughter of Achilles L. Eacho of Richmond, Virginia. Giving you dates for this family may be premature at this time . If not related to Achilles it would do you no good. Outside of what I have basically told you,I haven't done much on the family. I do have alittle info though.
You mentioned that your Grandfather was named William Henry Eacho. His father was Wm. H. Eacho Sr. Do you know who Seniors father was and when and where senior was born ? I do not have full access to the Ancestry.com Census records. I do have access to Heritage Quest Records. These are listed by head of household only.{1860-1930} I could try to look up something for you if you want. I do not make any guarantees though. If not, I can only suggest that you gather everything that you have together and write out a message and post it on Rootsweb or Ancestry. Both are the same. You might try Genealogy.com. I think Genealogy still has their free sign up thing so you can use their service. You just have to look for it.
Sorry I could not have been more help to you. If you do have any questions, just ask.
Wayne

Anyone wishing to contact me in regard will have to do so through alternative email. I have no way to respond to replys through Ancestry.com anymore. No need for me to sign up for a service that I don't use unless I am at the Historical Society. So if you wish to corrospond please do so by private email. Thank you !

I have found that the Eacho's did come from England. They had settled in a little town called Nantwich, which is SouthEast of Liverpool. They were only in Nantwich a short time (lees than 100 years, I forget exactly how long). They we immigrants from Northwestern Europe, maybe Belgium, Germany, Netherlands or France. Turns out that about the time of their arrival in Nantwich there was a huge persecution of the Huguenotsin Northeast Europe. Most likely, the Eachos fled Europe and immigrated to England because of that. They left for the colonies in the late 1600s.

Hi Wayne,

The Eacho family (pronounced EEKO) is from Henrico County, Virginia. They have been in Virginia since the late 1600s/early 1700s. From all the information we have gathered, they came into Virginia from Liverpool England. They had settled in Nantwich for a short while. We suspect they were Heugonots from Northwestern Europe. THere was a large migration of Heugonots from Europe to England during the presecutions.

My maiden name is Eacho, pronounced EEKO NOT ECHO.We were always told it was italian but have found no proof of that. There have been Eachos in viginia since the 1600s so they must have come over from England.
