I have the DZEMA surname in my family through my
grandfather's family somehow. His name was Michal HOSPODAR, from
Samudovce, AH. His mother's maiden name was KOSCSO (Anna). When my
grandfather came to the US in 1912 he was going to the home of his uncle
John Dzema in Noblestown, PA which is a small village southwest of Pittsburgh.
Any Dzema's out there?

Hi
My name John Dziama, simular but I don't know if there is a connection. My father came to Trafford on July 9, 1912 with the last name spelled Dziana. His father was Paul Dziama. He came to Pittsburgh on Feb. 7, 1902 and stayed for a short time and went back to Cieklin, Poland. Any connections.
John

I may have a connection .... not sure. I've just started researching my family and haven't gotten very far on this line.
My g.grandmother was ANNA DZEMA. She was born in 1885 in Samudovce, Zemplin County, Czechoslovakia. She arrived in the U.S. in 1901 settling for a short time in Bridgeport, CT with an uncle and eventually moving after marrying JOHN FERKO to Braddock, PA. Her parents were ANDREW DZEMA and ELIZABETH BENEDIN

My grandfather's name was John Dzema. He died in 1940, I believe. I remember hearing references to his living in Western PA, though my family is now in Eastern PA. My Dad could tell you more.
