My great grandfather was George Dyas born in 1860 in Olkington, Lincolnshire. He married 3 times and his marriage to Elizabeth Scrivens resulted in a daughter Elsie Gertrude who was my grandmother. Elizabeth died when Elsie was a baby and George's sister brought Elsie up. I know that George had other children and married again, he was working as a rural postman in the 1901 census and thats the last bit of info I have. Are there any Dyas descendants who are connected ?

My Grandmother was born in Raithby,Lincolnshire. John and Henry were born in Louth,Linconshire.
I have traced some more of the Dyas family going back to 1728.

Hi,

George's father was Charles born in 1928 in Raithby, Lincs. At the time of the 1871 census he had no wife listed at the address.

I'm trying to research the Dyas family. My father was Edgar Dyas. His father Charles Henry Dyas married Maud Marion Wells. I have just sent for the marriage certificate to try and find their parents names. They had 4 children, Edgar ( my dad) Phillis, Harold and Charlie. They lived in Lincoln. They are both buried in Nettleham church yard.
Does any of this ring any bells for you? If I have the wrong person, sorry to trouble you.

Hi my name is Sandra and my maiden name is DYAS. I have traced my family as far back as Alexander Dyas b: 1747 in Louth, he married Elizabeth Clarke b: 1751 in Lincs. They had 5 children but Robert b: 1771 and Susanna b: 1776 bot died in July 1778. Do you know how they died? Was it an accident or illness? Other children Susanna b:1780, Richard b: 1785 and Robert b: 1794 and all born in Louth.
Alexander and Elizabeth are my 4 times great grand parents.

Would love to hear anything regarding the Dyas family history.

Kind regards
Sandra

Hello Sandra, Alexander Dyas and Elizabeth Clarke are my 4 x gt grandparents too. I believe they had 10 children, my 3 x gt grandfather Robert (1794) being the last I know of.

Most of what I have on the Lincs Dyas family is summarised on my website:
