My grandfather is Spurgeon Dyar and my Aunt Maurine (his daughter) put together our family Dyar or Dyar genealogy years ago for me. Mine goes back to the 1500s in England. They were the Anglo-Saxons who originated from an area called Frisia. I am Hal Dyar's youngest daughter. Hal is Spurgeon's youngest child.

Hello! I am searching for more info on my branch of the Dyar family at the request of a second cousin, and came across your post. My grandfather is also Spurgeon Dyar, grandmother Beulah Ford Dyar. My father is Paul Dyar, their next-to-the-youngest child. Your father, Hal, is my Father's younger brother. I knew that there was a genealogy put together some years ago. I heard tell of a book of our family tree that was supposedly put together and numerous copies distributed to certain family members. I have never seen a copy of this book. I am very much interested in finding if this is, in fact, the information you have. I would love to somehow acquire information on our family for myself and our family member I spoke of.

I am also the granddaughter of Spurgeon and Bula Dyar. My father was Spurgeon Colombus Dyar Jr. Brother to Paul and Hal Dyar. Jr. died in 1991 and was buried in the same cemetery as his mother and father, in an area of Marion county, at Shiloh church, (north Marion county) There was a book wrote on the ancestry of the Dyar family tree. I am not sure how to go about finding this book. If anyone knows or finds out how I would like to have a copy. I was offered a chance to by this book some 30 or 40 years ago and didn't. Wish I had. I believe that S.C. Dyar Jr,'s sister Muriel Glaster had a copy. I am Gail Dyar Carter. Oldest daughter to S.C. Dyar Jr. My e-mail address is maggie5056@att.net
