Oral tradition from my grandfather Nelson S. Dwelly was that his family line came from Wales. He and his family moved from Kansas to California with the Union Pacific Railroad in 1902. A handwritten document shows his father Charles K. Dwelly marrying Anna M. Shields on 23 Jan 1862 in Lake County, Illinois. Seven of the children were born in Lake County and the other Five were born in Kansas locations. This is as far back as I currently have been able to trace. I hope this data will help someone. I am researching my husbands(James Burnett) family. I'm trying to put a book together for our children. His mother Marilyn Ann Ream lives in Tracy CA. Her parents where Elizbeth Ann (Dwelly)she married George Ream. Elizabeth parents where Nelson & Julia(Boyer) Dwelly. Do you have any more information on these two, such as birth dates or parents. Whatever you have would be appreciated.
