Looking for information on William Dwelley and Clarissa Snow (Dwelley) (d 1889 in Veazie, Penobscot County, ME).

Their daughter Margaret Dwelley married James A Turner. There is a Turner gravestone in the Fairview Cemetery, Veazie, ME for James A (1827-1912) and wife Margaret (1832-1903). The stone also includes the name of J M Alfred Turner (son, 1865-1930).

Their son Charles Edward Turner (1855-1930) married Mary E Page (1860-1891).

Their daughter Grace Mae Turner (1885-1955) married William Nahum Jordan (1886-1980).

Any information would be appreciated.

My interest in the Dwelleys of Veazie is that I’m trying to track Jane Dwelley born abt 1820. She lived in Veazie, first married to Ashbel Spencer and later married his brother Ruben. My unproven guess is that she was a sister to Wm Jr., James and John. Agewise she would fit in between Wm Jr. and James. The 1875 map of Veazie shows a J.L
Dwelley, a J. Dwelley and a W. Dwelly having homes out of downtown (?) Veazie on Orono road. Across the street from the J.L Dwelley’s place is J. Turner. I would assume
that would be the one married to your Margret.

I’m just wondering if you have any info re: Jane Dwelley to share or if you’ve a Spencer connection?

Hello, I believe we are distant cousins. Nathum Jordan was one of my distant relatives from the same area. The name Nathum was taken from another relative, Nathum Hassem. (I hope I have the last name correct. I am going by memory and not looking at my records.)

If you are interested, I couild outline how we are related. You can write to me at rjsides@comcast.net
