Lemuel Dutton is my husband's 3rd Great-grandfather. I found a Lemuel Dutton d. 11 Dec. 1855 and Abraham H. Dutton d. 16 Just 1855 in Shelby County, Illinois Cemetery Inscriptions Vol. 1. in the Austin Cemetery. everything fits, no proof, only theory.

Lemuel Dutton (1808-1855) had 6 children, of which Abraham (1833-1917) was the 3rd. Was there a question in your posting?

I am wanderin if you have found anything out. I am named after my grandfather "Lemuel" . I am just getting started on the family tree thing. All I know is that my dutton side id frome Joplin MO. And my middle name "Lemuel" is after my grandfather. If you have learned any more please let me know.

I just found your posting. I am in search some document
for Lemuel Dutton (1800-1855) other than the Austin cemetery record. I have only the 1830-1850 census. Was his birth place OH or PA? Also Lemuel's parents. Theory Abraham Dutton (1760-1810) Thank you for any assistance.

I have been studying Albert Dutton who married Delia Ann
Wilkins in Shelby county, Illinois. As a consequence, I have been looking at all the Dutton families in Shelby, Effingham and Fayette counties Illinois. It appears that they all may be related to each other. It is interesting that the name Dutton is spelled Dutting on the 1850 census in Effingham County. It is spelled Ditton on the 1850 census in Shelby county.
Anyway, I assume this is the 1850 census for your Lemuel(index appears to list him as Samuel) Dutton:

Harriet may be living with Albert's son Oscar on the 1930 census in Effingham County , Illinois.
