Tanguay identifies no less than 24 Dupuis who came from France to Canada in the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries.

From the diocese of Rieux, he was buried in Montreal 1 JUL 1676

2 Jean Dupuis baptized 1644, found in Chambly in 1681

3 Paul Dupuis married Jeanne Couillard in Quebec 22 OCT 1668
From the diocese of Arles, he was Seigneur of l'Ile aux Oies, and an officer of the Carignan regiment. At his death he was Lieutenant-general of the Prevote of Quebec, and buried in the Church of Quebec 21 DEC 1713.

4 Francois Dupuis married Georgette Richer in Quebec 6 OCT 1670
From the diocese of Limoges, he was one of the two Dupuis ancestors to settle in Laprairie. Neither Tanguay nor Beauregard reported his burial.

5 Jean Dupuis married Jeanne Gervaise in Montreal 17 JAN 1678
From St-Michel in Bordeaux, he was a merchant, buried in Pointe-aux-Trembles 10 MAY 1696

6 Nicolas Dupuis dit Montauban married Marie-Madeleine Emond in Quebec 15 NOV 1691
From St-Martin de Montmorency in the diocese of Paris, he settled in Nicolet. Beauregard reports his death after 28 OCT 1699.

7 Jacques Dupuis dit Lagarenne married Madeleine Prevost in Trois-Rivieres 4 FEB 1687
From the diocese of Agen Geneve, he was buried in Trois-Rivieres 31 DEC 1708

8 Louis Dupuis dit le Parisien married Barbe Dubeau in Quebec 18 Jan 1688
From St-Sulpice in the diocese of Paris, he also settled in Laprairie. This is the ancestor of my paternal grandmother. A soldier in the garrison of Quebec when he married, he soon entered the fur trade. Barbe Dubeau divorced him in 1706, and moved with her family to St-Philippe-de-Laprairie in 1710. No record of his death was ever found.

From Bayonne, he was a locksmith. Neither Tanguay nor Beauregard reported his burial.

16 Jean-Baptiste Dupuis married the widow Marguerite Roy in Quebec 19 MAT 1735
From St-Nicolas-des-Champs in Paris, he was a merchant. Neither Tanguay nor Beauregard reported his burial, but Marguerite remarried in Quebec 27 APR 1739.

17 Gilbert-Charles Dupuis dit Gilbert married Marie-Angelique Brunet in Sainte-Foy 13 NOV 1741
From Rosnay in the diocese of Bourges, Beauregard cannot find any trace of him in Rosnay. Tanguay shows his burial in St-Joseph-de-Beauce 1 DEC 1767.

18 Jean Dupuis dit Gilbert, brother of Gilbert-Charles, married Jeanne Sedilto in Sainte-Foy 11 FEB 1743. Neither Tanguay nor Beauregard reported his burial.

19 Christophe Dupuis, baptized 1738, was a captain in the regiment of Languedoc, wintering in Sainte-Croix, buried in the Sainte-Croix church 31 JAN 1758

20 Etienne Dupuis married Marie-Josephe Terrenoire in Vercheres 17 NOV 1760
