I am looking for info on Dorcas Dunn. She would be my husbands G-G-Grandmother. My husbands grandmother remembers a little info on the family but it seems to be disjointed.
She remembers that Dorcas' mother was indian,either Sioux or Cherokee, she went by 'states' names such as California and Texas, she and Dorcas' father were forbidden to marry although he was indian as well, and she named Dorcas after him using the names Dunn and my grandmother in law clearly remembers the last name (or first) Black .Dorcas Dunn went on to marry Floyd Byous, their daughter was Sarah Pearl and on down the line. I am trying to find out if this history rings a bell with anyone else. If it helps the family is all from TN.
