Am too searching for information on my grandmother Katherine Duggan. Known to come from County Cork. Parents had a store "D. Duggan Spirit Store" at #19 Street unknown selling Murphys famous Cork Stout Porter. Obtained this information from picture given to me by father. Picture is dated June 1912 and sent to her here in Plainfield, N.J. from her mother. Would love to exchange info.

My father is from West Cork, Ireland, about 100 yards from his farm were a large group of the Duggan family. Maybe Cork is where you need to look. I go there frequently.

Duggans in Cork...the Sullivan Connection

This is word for word the same as my other postings, but with one difference. Catherine remarried a man named Sulivan.

The earliest Duggan I have is a Catherine Duggan Mulchina Sullivan, born December 25th, 1848 in Cork, Ireland. She married a Nicholas Mulchina (Mutchina) who was also born in Cork, and died in Ireland. In Queenstown Co. Cork, she gave birth to her daughter Johanna (my great-great-grandmother) on her 16th birthday in 1864 (wow!). After Nicholas died, she remarried (Sullivan) and she and her children (the number of which I am not sure of) came to the US. There was a large amount of them that settled in the ND and MT area. Catherine herself died in Butte, MT, date unknown. Johanna married my great-great-grandfather, Philip John McLoughlin, and the rest is history.
I hope this helps.

Hi. I was just scanning through the "Duggan" boards and came across your old posting regarding the Duggans of County Cork. My Great Great Grandfather Thomas O'Duggan (Changed to Duggan) married Mary O'Donnel. We've been told they came to the US from County Cork--we believe in 1847. If the information is correct, they had 2 children--Thomas and Helen (ages 11 and 12 in 1847). In 1856 they had twins - John Patrick and Margaret--born in Philadelphia. Pennsylvania USA. Some time after that they returned to Ireland. John Patrick returned to the USA when he was 17. We've heard Margaret 1)died in Ireland and 2)returned to the USA. We don't know which is correct. Is there a way we can contact someone in County Cork to see whether there are any records on our family?

Hello there from North Yorkshire. I have a Timothy Duggan marrying a Mary Barry on 16 Jan 1897 at Innishannon, Bandon. They are buried near Cork at Crookstown and somewhere else quite close. Timothy's father was John Duggan. The witnesses to the marriage were Nora O'Brien and Daniel Duggan. The family had a gravel pit. Do you know where I might find the "Residence at time of marriage" They are described as (1) Kilbeg, which i have found on a map and (2) Coolafoula, which I cannot find anywhere? Mary Barry was the daughter of William Barry. Any help greatly appreciated.
