I am not a family member, but I have some information that you might like having, Julie. I realize you're looking for Amelia Dufour but I have some info on Joseph Biamonte - and sometimes having information about one can lead to info about the other. Joseph Biamonte owned the property that is now the famous Cornstalk Fence Hotel in the French Quarter, although it was a different building than the one which stands there now. He most certainly not the man who installed the Cornstalk Fence, which was designed in 1860. Here is a link to the chain of title to the property:
http://www.hnoc.org/vcs/property_info.php?lot=18568Marie A. and Aimee Christine Biamonte (the daughters) inherited the property and appear on the record.
It may be of great help, it may be useless - but hopefully it's a clue!

www.tourcreole.comI Am looking for information about Amelia Dufour who immigrated to New Orleans with her husband Giuseppe(Joseph) Biamonte. They came in 1832 with their 2 daughters Marie Antoinette and Aimee(Jeanne C). Evidently Amelia(Aumee) died soon after arrival. The family history indicates that she was from the house Of Bernadotte therefore related to the King of Sweden. Giuseppe was a schoolmate of Napolean III. He fought with the group of Carboneri in Italy and was exiled to France..I think the Bordeaux region where he married Amelia. They came to New Orleans in 1832.I think she died after a year in New Orleans, but I cant find anything about her. Giuseppe died in 1858.Julie Dameron
