I am looking for info on Sarah L. Dufoe daughter of Oliver
Dufoe and Casander Lyon. She was the first wife of Leroy Nigh, my grandfather. They were married 10 Dec. 1890 in
Grant Nebraska. After that date I can find no info.

Sarah L. Dufoe was my grandfather's first wife. I believe she was the daughter of Oliver Dufoe.
They were married 10 Dec 1890 in Grant Nebr.
Federal census shows him as widowed in 1910.
Any info on what became of her?

Charlie Dufoe (Marvin Dufoe's father) was my uncle. I have information on the Dufoe side, but not much on Mills. We may have spoken before....I have a photo of Charlie and Mollie I would be willing to share.

Hi Nancy,

Funny but my father's name is James Dufoe. There are a bunch of us living in N.H., although I'm not sure if we have a connection to Ottawa. I'll check with my parents. Unfortunately all of my Dufoe grandparents have passed.

I'm the granddaughter of Homer Owen DuFoe. My mother was Violet Lorraine his third daughter. My Grandfather had five daughters and two sons. Three step sons, and two stepdaughters. His second wife was Norma. My mother has six children. Was married three times. If you would like more information feel free to e-mail me. Hi Nancy, actually DuFoe is my maiden name and that is the way it has always been spelled. All DuFoe relatives I have known of live in Illinois. My father and Mother,Thomas DuFoe and Donna live in the Rockford area and have all their lives. I thought it was rather interesting to see my name when I did a google search on it. My name is nancy dufoe and I'm from Rouyn-Noranda Quebec. Quite a distance from New Hampshire. My grandfathers name was James Dufoe. I'm not sure but I heard that his ancestors were from Ireland. Most of my Dufoe family are living in Ottawa canada. I've been curious to know if there were more Dufoe's somewhere. I would like to here from you soon !!!!!

Edward DuFoe in New Hampshire

He was in Lancaster, Coos County in the mid 1800s, probably around 1840. I believe he married there and had one child. He owned a Carriage Shop. Looking for info about parents and descendants.
His brother Charles Oliver went by the name Rocklow while he was living in the Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois area after 1830. Don't know if Edward ever used this name. Both of them came from Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada.
Researchers (or any DuFoes) in New Hampshire...???

We are kin through Jane Dufoe (Evan's younger sister) who married John Green and their daughter Cassandere Green married Edward Wilson. My inlaws live in Delaware County and I believe I have visited the cemetery. I was hoping you had information on Casander's parents. I guess I'll start looking in Pennsylvania. Thanks for the reply.

What would you like to know about Cassandra? Her name was actually Casander Lyon, I believe...that is how it appears (nearly obliterated now) on her tombstone...if the 1880 Federal Census is correct, both her parents were born in Pennsylvania...her birth date is 17 May 1825, born in Gurnsey County, Ohio. She died 17 May 1905 in Hopkinton, South Fork Township, Delaware County, Iowa.
To my knowledge, she married only once, to Charles Oliver Dufoe (who was called Oliver), on 13 Oct 1859 in Union Township, Delaware County, Iowa. She married Oliver very shortly after his first wife died. She raised most of Oliver's nine living children. Her son Evan Schrack Dufoe was my great grandfather. I have a fairly readable image of her tombstone if you'd like to see it.

Hello, My father, Arthur Owen DuFoe passed away in 1978, his father and mother where Homer and Allma DuFoe, (she died in the early 1950's, he died in a car wreck in SD. in the early 1970's) they lived at one time in Neb, ND., He then moved to Mpls. Mn. After marrying his second wife, Norma. The family ariganaly came threw Three (?) Rivers Canada. We have some family in the uper east area. (Maine) ? We are also related to Charles Oliver DuFoe. My mother's name is Jeanne Ann (Fournier) DuFoe, and I have two sister's named Judith Ann & Carol Jean, my brother's name is Charles Owen.

Don't know if any of the info I have would help you, however...I've been searching for the descendents of charles Oliver Dufoe his brother Edward. Both of them walked from Three Rivers, Quebec, into the USA somewhere around 1830...they passed through Rockford, Illinois, and Charles Oliver ended up in Buck Creek, Iowa. Any connections that you know of? Thanks!

Hi Michael, My Great Grandmother ( Louisa Dufoe ) daughter of ( Louis and Louisa ) lived in Wilton, New Hampshire. I also found her sisters and brother ( Napoleon.) in the town census. After Louisa died,Louis married( Emma.) They had a son ( Charles.) I have the names of Napoleon's sons and daughters. Is this part of your family? Janice Evitt
