Will Of Henry Duerson
Probate Feb. 6, 1815 in Spotsylvania County, Va Will Book "H" p. 485-486
I, Henry Duerson of Spotsylvania County and Parish of St, George being through the abundant mercy and goodness of God, tho weak in body, yet of a sound and perfect understanding and memory do constitute this my last will and testament, and desire it may be received by all as such, in manner and form following. Viz:
First, I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Duerson the property I formerly let him have, viz: one negro man named Moses, I girl named Phillis with all her future increase also one girl named Clara with all her future increase, one horse and feather bed.
I do also give and bequeath unto my daughter, Elizabeth Beazley a negro girl named Mary with all her future increase, one boy named Bob, one horse worth $50.00 and a feather bed.
I do also give and bequeath unto my daughter Lucy Coates, a negro girl named Rachel with all her future increase, one boy named Willis, one best and bed now in her possession.
I do also give and bequeath unto my dau., Mary Duerson, one negro boy named Winston, one girl called Malinda with all her future increase, one horse worth $50.00 and a feather bed.
I do also give unto my son James Duerson, one negro boy named Squire, one beast and bed, also a tract of land (by the name of Carpenters) to him and his heirs forever.
I do also give and bequeath unto my son, Joseph Duerson, one negro boy named Moses (son of Kate), one girl named Ann with all her future increase, one bed and beast.
I do also give and bequeath unto my dau., Hannah Duerson, one negro boy named Tom, one girl named Sarah with all her future increase, one horse worth $50.00 and a bed.
I do also give and bequeath unto my son John Duerson to him and his heirs forever the pond tract of land from the mouth of the branch to where Mrs. Hewlett lived, from thence to Daingerfield's line, reserving 10 acres of wood land at the upper end of salt pond to be added to the tract whereon I now live running straight from thence to A. M. Lewis' line also a negro man named Peter and one feather bed and horse worth $50.00.
I do also give and bequeath unto my son Gideon Duerson one negro boy named Moses, one girl named Hannah with all her future increase, one bed and one horse worth $50.00.
I do also give and bequeath unto my son Elisha Duerson, to him and his heirs forever, the tract of land whereon I now live, also one negro girl named Barbara with all her future increase, one bed and horse worth $50.00.
I do also give and bequeath unto my grandson John Duerson (son of Henry Duerson, deceased) three hundred dollars or a negro girl of that value.
I do also, in addition to the contract between my beloved wife Mary Duerson and myself, lend her during the term of her natural life, a negro girl named Isabella.
I also desire that all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate, goods and chattels of what kind and nature soever be sold and divided amongst five of my children, namely, Lucy Coates, Joseph Duerson, Mary Duerson, Hannah Duerson and Gideon Duerson so that each of my last mentioned children may have 300 dollars each in addition to what I have before given them making their shares nearly equal with the rest of my children and should there not be estate sufficient to make that sum, at my wife's death for them to have so much as will make it, then at her death the balance of my estate to be equally divided amongst the whole of my children.
I also wish the three old women, Sarah, Amy and Mourning to continue in the family and lastly I do hereby appoint Henry Beazley and John Stewart executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23rd day of April 1814.

I am interested in Mary who married James Roach in 1815, and the family of Henry's wife Mary Stewart d/o John Stewart who died 1821.
