I noted your e-mail notice regarding the Drum family in Ireland. I was born and raised in TX but was told my father's family came from Ireland. I have researched family and located many Drum families in Catawba County, North Carolina. Supposedly their ancestor is John (Johann, etc.) Drum who was married to Ann (Anna) and arrived in NY. I am traveling to Ireland in August and want to search the records in Londonderry and surrounding couties, as my search reports the original Drum family came from that vicinity. I would be pleased to correspond with you and anyone else having information regarding the family roots in Ireland. Thanks, Donna

My husband's name is Tommy Duke Drum. He is from Texas and has tracked his family tree back to Johann and Anna (possibly Anna Ruth). He has a photo of his tumb stone, but has run into a dead end as to where Johann came from. Some say Ireland, Wales or even Germany. I would love to get any information you might find in your search. If you want any info from Johann, Philip, Thomas, Hiram, Thomas Duncan, Leland, and Tom Drum (my husband), feel free to contact us.

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, I would like to find out what you have and will share with you my search. There is an annual Drum Reunion held in September in N. Carolina. Me and my cousin from TX attended in 03 and I also went in 05. It is nice. They have many books showing their lines--mostly from a Johann and Anna (buried there), but they also show another Johann (John) that had ties to TX. My great grandfather W.R. Drum had 8 sons, one named Hiram. Several roots show W.R. came from the Phillip line. Later, Donna

Thank you for your response to my wifes posting. Here is information that I have. Hiram Drum was my Great Grandfather. I have Johann Drum and Anna (possibly Anna Ruth) was the parents of Philip Drum. Philip had three wives, fifteen children, at least seven and maybe eight brothers and sisters. I come from Thomas Drum whom I do not have the name of Philip's wife from. Thomas had two wives, seven children (I have names for all but one) and four siblings. From Thomas, I come from Hiram Duncan Drum who had two wives, twelve children and three siblings. One of Hiram's son's was Thomas Duncan Drum (my Grandfather). Thomas Duncan Drum had one wife, Eunice Williams, six children and six brothers and sisters. My Dad is Leland Lynn Drum, my name is Tommy Duke Drum and I have two son's named Eric Duke Drum and Aron Duke Drum. My daughter's name is Tara Leanne Karpenski. I have most of the names that plug in the holes of the Drum's above if you need them. Feel free to contact me at Tdpassion4Jesus@wmconnect.com I also have a photo of Hiram that I can e-mail you if you want it. God bless!

I am also researching this family; my info says they descend from Johann who was born in Scotland, moved to Holland and then to Germany. There is a large group in the Western PA area and i'm trying to link one of our Drums to the above line. will be happy to share questions.
