Paul Drinkwine and George Drinkwine relation?

I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with this. Paul Drinkwine(Bovin) was born in Canada in 1835, He moved to Fond Du Lac Wisconsin sometime before the 1870 census came out. George Drinkwine(Bovin) was born in Canada in 1833. He lived in Lake County, IL. during the 1860 census. During the 1870 census he was living in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin and he was neighbors with Paul Drinkwine. Paul Drinkwine soon moved back to New York. However, some of his children and George's children moved to Michigan to work at a saw mill. That is the first link I have to them. Now Paul's parents were listed as Theodore Boivin (1816-1880) and Emily Chamberlain (?-1880?). In the 1850 census they were living in New York. However, Paul and George were not on that census. This is a long shot and I am not sure about all of this. Thank you!
My Father was Robert Edward Drinkwine. He didn't really talk to much about his family, but his mother, Mary (LeBonte) Drinkine, died around 1978-1982. I never met his father. I think his name was also Robert Drinkwine. I vaguely remember going to my grandmother's, Mary, funeral near Superior, WI. My father had taken my mother and I to Solan Springs, WI claiming that it was the area where he grew up.

He had a couple brothers, Donald Drinkwine and Lenord Drinkwine. I'm not sure if they are still living or not. I believe one died in the 80's.

My father also has another son, Robert Drinkwine, whom I have only met once. I Think he is from Superior, WI also.

Not sure if any of this helps, but I can not get any information beyond my grandparents.

I can be reached at>> d ar relldrinkwine@hot mail.com no spaces..

Erin, I always remembered you as a cute girl on the bus to school, all the way back to the quail hollow day, with your pigtails and bight white teeth, to the little green turtle backpack you used to carry around. things started to get ugly when a certain someone started talking smack, thats when i made my mind up to befriend you and ignore her, so you used to come over everyday after school and we would ride horses. we shared a lot of similarities, you were always talking about cali, and i was always out in cali every summer and winter. you were my best friend. things changed when G.W stepped into office. he declared war, things were very messed up, al-quida was tapping into the system and we lost control of the car. thats all...why you think you can take your own life is beyond comprehension, you took yourself from people who love need and depend on you for your presence and it affected everyone.

Martha was my husbands sister, and her children are his nieces and nephews, I need Fred and Anna's sister, brothers if any and then their parents. My husband's father Fred was born 22 November 1883 in Fairfax, Vermont. Is there any connection or are am I on another Drinkwine family. There does appear to be quite a few.
Hi Peggy, You already may have clarified some of this, but maybe I can answer a question. Henry and Olive (Gadoury) Drinkwine did not have a child named Olive. I assume you're correct that the Olive you found is really Clara, married to Walter Clark. My grandfather was Louis, the son of Henry and Olive. The sister "Louis" you mentioned is actually Louise (Collette), whose given name was Mary Phoebe Louise Drinkwine. Celia's last name was Finneron (with an "o"), and she was my grandfather's twin. He died at age 93, and she died at 99. Let me know if I can answer any more questions.

St. John/Drinkwine

Being a researcher for my family history often yields many diverse roads. I have been looking for the parents of Olive Drinkwine b. 1877 who married Fred St. John. Henry/Olive Drinkwine has been one of those diverse bumpy roads. I want to share what I have learned. US Census 1880: Drinkwine, Henry and Olive ages 23 and 24 respectively. Two children listed: Olive b. 1877 and Joseph, b 1879. These were the people I have been looking for. Family obituary stated Olive (Drinkwine) St. John d. 28 Dec. 1958. This obituary listed three sons, William H., Frederick L. and Purley A. St. John and two daughters, Dora Ball and Frances Balthazar and two brothers David and Louis Drinkwine. The sons and daughters matched with my family research. Further searching resulted in Olive Drinkwine and Henry having the following children: Emily, Henry A., Clara O., David J., Jeffrey J., Louise P., Ida, Cecilia P., Louis P., Celia, and William J. Now - some of these names match up with the obit of my Olive (Drinkwine) St. John, but the crutch was I could not find any Census listing all the children of Henry and Olive. Next step discovered was Henry had another wife. So we have a Olive Skidmore and a Olive Gadoury. The family trees I looked at always listed Olive Skidmore first and Olive Gadoury second giving the impression that this was the order in which Henry married these women. (From my experience wives are listed in order of marriage). This was not the case. I started researching Olive Skidmore and discovered that Henry was her second marriage and she had five children from her first marriage. She and all but one child was born in England. I further discovered that Henry did not marry Olive Skidmore until Sep 7, 1924 (newspaper marriage announcement) Henry Drinkwine was 70 yrs. of age at the time of this marriage and Olive Skidmore was 40 yrs old. This infomation led me to a family group sheet on Ancestry.com and a family tree that listed Olive Gadoury and Henry Drinkwine and all of their children - 13 in all. This family tree included my Olive (Drinkwine) St. John and her brother Joseph and finally the dates of birth matched up with the birth, marriage and death of the parents Henry Drinkwine and Olive (Gadoury) Drinkwine. Olive (Gadoury) Drinkwine d. 27 Dec. 1921 and Henry then married Olive (Skidmore) Drinkwine abt. 1924. Olive (Skidmore) Drinkwine d. 28 Dec. 1958. My next step at this point is to obtain the birth, marriage and death certificates to prove all I have learned about the family and then continue to move forward. Thank you to all who helped.

St.John/Drinkwine Family

I have been researching Fred St. John, b 1871 possibly Plattsburg, New York, who married Olive V. Drinkwine, Greenville, Hillsborough Cty., New Hampshire, b 1877. I am having difficulty verifing Fred's birth and Olives family parents. Olive had 4 children, Dora A. who m. Clifford Ball, Frances Clara who m. Ephraim Balthazar, William H. who married Marie Josephine LeComte,Frederick L. m. unknown, and Perley, m. unknown. Family info tells me Olive's siblings were Henry A., Clara O., David J., Jeff, Louisa P., Celia, Louis and William. Births ranging from 1884 to 1897. A original newspaper obituary stated that Olive left two brothers, David Drinkwine of Fitchburg and Louis Drinkwine of Hudson; two sisters, Mrs. Celia Finneran and Mrs. Lois Colette, both of Fitchburg. In a perfect world I can assume that Lois Colette is actually Louisa P. So here is the problem. Some of the info matches up. But no where is there an Olive listed as a sister to David, Louis, Celia or Louisa (Lois). In my perfect world I could assume that Olive V. is actually Clara O (possibly O = Olive)the birth dates don't match up. One is 1877 for Olive and 1887 for Clara O. This is one of several jams I have come up against. Any help/clarification would help.

HI, I think Anthony and Pierre were brothers (Anthony is baptized at St Luc 1824, the 4th child of Antoine Boivin and Catherine Morin, and George (I believe) was their cousin. son of Edoard Boivin and Suzzane Manseaur. I have his baptism record from 1830 of St Luc CAN. south of Montreal, where they all seem to come from. George and Peter are listed in the 1862 Military Census for Waukegan. George moves to Fondulac area and is part of the Civil War WI Infantry, and Anthony is in the 1865 IL Lake Co census but later moves to the Fondulac area. George's son, George (and Julia) moves to Kenosha later. It is all interconnected. The Boivins all have similar name so you have to be cautious. Don't get them mixed up.
Olivia

P.S. You have me thinking now. I'll have to look into Roger Boivin/Drinkwine and Clair. although those aren't names that appear through the family, before George. It does say he was married in Canada, to Amelia. In the baptism records of St Mary's (Immaculate Conception)in Illinois they are sponsors for each others babies, Pierre, Anthony, George.

Olivia

Your Welcome
I am from the Pierre Boivin/Drinkwine line. I believe Anthony Drinkwine in Waukegan IL 1860 was Pierre's brother. I'm guessing George Drinkwine is Pierre's cousin. George and Peter are in the 1862 Lake Co Military Index. George moves to Fondulac WI and is in the civil war Wis Infantry. In the 1870 WI Fed census George has a daughter named Falina, could this be Philisa. In the 1860 census records George is listed as living in Warren Township next to Avon township and has a daughter named Phillomine. His wife and children match up to the 1870 Fondulac census but in 1860 George is listed as Dickinson instead of Drinkwine. It's page 15 of 29, Warren Township, or page 200 on the top of the census record. Could this be Philisa's family?
I think this George Drinkwine is George Boivin from Eduoard Boivin and Suzanne Manseaur, from St Luc, Quebec just south of Montreal. It's part of the St Jean-sur-Richelieu diocese and near Chambly Quebec. I think Eduoard Boivin later was part of eith L'Acadie or St Athanese or Iberville. I'm sorry I don't have my records before me. If you have Ancestry World you can get access to the Droin Collection of baptism. marriages and deaths from the Catholic churches.
I hope this helps some, it is so hard when you hit a brick wall and can't move on. Hope some of this checks out for you family history.
Olivia (Drinkwine)

There is a R. Pickle who owns land (near Miltimore Lake) in Avon township near Sand Lake Rd and Hwy 45 in Lake County IL in a 1861 Avon land plat map from. Maybe that's John's dad. It's from
hmca-il.org/hmp11861.jpg. this is site about Milburn, IL.
I can't find anything on John Pickle or Philisa Drinkwine. I am a Drinkwine. I don't know who Philsa comes from. He is not in the 1860 or 1870 census in IL. I do see J Pickle and Philsa Drinwine's marriage in 1875 in IL.

I am Henry Drinkwine's great granddaughter. Louis was my grandfather. Thanks for your post!! You're correct that Henry married Olive Gadoury first, then Olive Skidmore. A Skidmore still lives in the old Drinkwine homestead in Fitchburg as far as I know. I was doing some research at Fitchburg Historical Society and met someone who was married to a Skidmore and gave me that info. I have pictures of Emily St. John from Henry's birthday parties in the 50's.

You can't find a census with all the children because the 1890 Census was destroyed. Also, Olive was married and gone by the next census in 1900.

How do you know which Henry Olive Skidmore married? Couldn't it have been Henry, Jr.?

Also, from looking at the census and other data -- there was more than one Henry Drinkwine in the same area.

I found many birth, marriage listings on these folks -- see my answer to your other posting...

Wouldn't the reasons why there's no listing of all the siblings be: 1) There's no existing 1890 US Census 2) Olive was grown up and not living at home by the 1900 US Census?

From what I can tell from the census data, Olive was married at age 16.

If you trace her supposed siblings and obtain their death certificates, you should be able to learn if they have the same parents.

Likewise, order Olive's death certificate -- and order her marriage record, too. That should have her parents listed.

HI, We must be related. Your grandfather was Ralph Drinkwine from the Waukegan Drinkwines, who moved to the Kenosha area. My great grandfather born 1868 was Felix,(Phil) (from Peter Drinkwine/Pierre Boivin born 1834) who moved from Canada to Waukegan to Kenosha. Ralph had a auto repair business in Bristol I think. Then one of them (there were 2 Ralphs, father and son) moved to Florida. The Drinkwines have moved all over the northern Illinois southern Wisconsin area. I have worked on the genealogy for some years now and have it back to Canada and then a few generations, and then you can plug into the already done genealogy that Canada has done on the Boivins. Are you interested in it? Let me know.
Olivia (Drinkwine)

Olivia
