This is what I know about them before they emigrated from Prussia. My grandmother Anna Wilhelmina Draves was approximatley 6 years old when she came to the U.S, give or take a couple of years

My grandparents and great grandparents settled in WI after emigrating from Prussia.

Here is what I know: so far: Myy grandmother, Anna Wilhelmina Draves was supposedly born in Samponst Madavitz, Kraes Caming Hentes Pomner in 1878. Indications are that her father was Gottlieb Draves born in 1857 and her mother was Bertha Schmelling (maiden name) Draves.

Possible leads for Maedewitz or Madewitz in Kreis county, Maerkisch-Oderland state of Brandenburg, Germany. Altreetz may be its parish location.
Brandenburg and Saxony state provinces show a map of 1882 indicating Maedewitz or Madewitz.

The town Maedwitz is located in Kreis (county) Potsdam-Mittelmark, state of Brandenburg, Germany.

Where "Pomn" listed in the first paragraph comes into the picture, I am not sure. I assumed it represented Pommerania.
