Services Held for Laura Root, 99

Laura Root 99, of Dows, died Thursday Dec. 7 at the Golden Acres Manor in Dows.
She was born Dec. 28, 1867 at Savannah, Iowa.

She was married to Thomas Root Nov. 8, 1884. Mr. Root died in 1934. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Maggie Tetrie, Iowa Falls; Mrs. AUGUST DRAVES, Dows; Mrs. Alta LaRue, Tergo, Wisconsin; Mrs. James Reilly, Overland park, Kansas; George Root, Dows; Clarence Root, Dows; Herbert, Shell Lake, Wisconsin; 32 grandchildren, 102 great grandchildren and 93 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Arthur, 2 sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church in Dows. Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery. Rev. Raymond Bailey officiated.

The Van Hove funeral Home was in charge of services.
