Hi David
Wow, that's great - a direct link! I am sure there is lots we could ask but I can't think where to start.....any family information would be fantastic if you and your wife would be prepared to share and likewise, although we know very little. My husband Jeremy is the son of Lorian Clayton Drabble, son of Lawrence Hilton. Unfortunately Lorian died in 1996 but his sister, Vivienne is still alive and lives in Nottingham, Newark, we think. His wife Gladys nee Slack remarried to a man named "Bill" but we are still trying to find out about this. Lorian's other son, Peter Whitworth Drabble drowned in the canal when his bike fell on top of him as a young boy in Newark, very sad, with Lawrence dying at an early age with a ruptured ulcer. Shame that there has obviously been a problem somewhere in the past for Lorian to fall out with his family as it means my husband and his brother and sisters have never had the opportunity to meet members of the Drabble family or have any knowledge of the family as a whole. Not sure how our tree is starting to look as a lot of our research has been a bit hit and miss without much knowledge. We stayed in Middleton by Youlgreave for a weekend walking back in February of last year and loved it. We hoped to gain a little knowledge from local resources but weren't very successful. If you feel you would like to share what information you have and think there is anything we can shed light on, then please do not hesitate to get in touch. My personal email for info is
sueclaytondrabble@gmail.com and we would love to hear from you. If there is any help you need with research too, we would be very willing to help.....sometimes a couple of people are better than one or two when looking for things. Anyway, thank you for your time and very many thanks for your kind assistance. Sue and Jeremy Clayton Drabble
