By chance would you happen to have a Margaret Sinnmon b. 1835 in Amagh, Ireland married Nickolas D. Musselman around 1857, lived in Ottumwa, Iowa? Moved to Oregon for a while. My grandpa was named Edward Singleton Musselman. I can't figure out how his mom got Singleton, until I saw your post and thought maybe there might be a connection.

Hi Chris [and anyone else interested in DRABBLE!!]

I have seen a posting of this yours [dating back to 2000] regarding your interest in the DRABBLE family from Sheffield but an email just sent to you has been returned.

For the past few years I have been researching the victims of the Sheffield Flood [12th March 1864]. One of the compensation claims lodged after the flood was placed by George DRABBLE, a farmer living at Foxholes in Bradfield and his claim included “son drowned at Mr Bradshaw’s in Malin Bridge”. George received full compensation for this part of the claim and I have since proved that George had [at least] six sons but all clearly survived the flood.

I have now reached the proverbial brick wall! but would dearly love to prove the identity of this son.

I would be very grateful if you could throw any light on this mystery for me and will happily pass on details of the family if they are of interest.

Hope to hear from you

Best Regards
Karen Lightowler

Hi Stephen
Would your father be Harry Drabble by any chance ? His father was called Harry and his mother May Turner. She was my aunt. Her brother was called Frank Turner and I am his son Frank. If this rings any bells please contact me.
Cheers
Frank

Hi Chris,
I also am trying to find out more about the Drabble family.
I have a Francis(Francisci) Drabble, born-1661 in Eyam( i think.
I have Francis wife( partner) as Amicie( no last name)born in Eyam 1665.
Their children: Maria Drabble
Elizabeth Drable(notice one b) born- 1687.

Am I on the right track and if you or anyone else has any information to add to mine that would be very helpful.

I also am wondering how anyone survived being born into the time of the Plague.

Kind Regards
