I can't help much with the family of Samuel Dowell or his wife Sarah Pavey, but I do have their son William Pavey Dowell (1827 - 1873) in my extended family tree. He married my cousin Eliza Sarah Hulin (1831 - 1910) at Newport, Monmouthshire in 1854. They had at least two known children Rosa Eliza Hulin Dowell 1855 - ?) and Emily Amelia Gillman Dowell (1857 - ?), both school teachers. Here is what I have on Samuel and Sarah Dowell.
