Nathaniel Dover
COWPENS-Nathaniel Dover, 82, of 242 Bunch Street, died June 29 in
Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cherokee County, he was son of the late Bill William
and Corrie Norris Dover. He was a retired driver and employee of
Clarkson Brothers of Cowpens. He was a member of White Plains
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Bennie Sesley Dover; three daughters,
Nellie Dover of Long Beach, N.Y. Myrtle Dennis pf Amityville,
N.Y. and Judy Dover of Gaffney, four sons, Nathaniel Dover Jr. of
Spartanburg, Hubert Dover of Long Beach, N.Y., Leon Dover of
Jamaica, N.Y., and Quinnon Dover of Queens, N.Y.; one sister,
Addie Dover of Cowpens; two brothers, Ted Dover of Cowpens, and
Roy Dover of Greensboro, N.C.; 18 grandchildren, including two
reared in the home, Wendy Davis of Long Beach and Carol Dawkins
of Gaffney; 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary Baptist
Church in Cowpens, conducted by the Revs. James Patton Jr.,
Lionel Dawkins, Tony Macomson and Perry Posey and Bishop Lewis
Brannon. The body will be in the church at 2 p.m.
Foster Funeral Home in Gaffney is in charge of arrangement.
