Surnames: SPRADLING, MOUNCE, WADE, DOUBLEHEAD
My gggg grandmother was Elizabeth "Betsy" Mounce who married James "Little Black Dutch" Spradling. James Spradling was born 1780 in Wilkes County, NC and died before 1830 in Wayne County, KY. Betsy Mounce's sister, Margaret, was supposed to have married Tuckahoe Doublehead.

Does anyone know why James Spradling was nicknamed Little Black Dutch? I know his father-in-law, John Mounce was close to the Indian nation.
