I have seen records that show my great-great grandfather, Gabe Butler, leased land from Chief Doublehead near Bluewater Creek in Lauderdale County. It's been told that he purchased land from him for $40.00 around 1808. I would appreciate any information or knowledge of records about Doublehead's land dealings around this time.
