Marshall Doty from New York married Harriett Humby of S.C. They lived in either Anson or Richmond County during the Civil War. The only child I know about was Rosa B. Doty who was my great grandmother and who was born in N.C. 7 Aug. 1857. This is all the information I have on this family. Will appreciate any help I can get.

Marshall Doty, Morris Cty., N.J.

Hello from St. Paul, Minnesota.

I am tracking the same lines of the Doty family.

The 1897 Doty family history says:

Marshall Losey Doty, (11th child of 16) of Aaron & Phebe Mofford Doty, was born March 26, 1831, married and was a car painter, and removed to Wadesborough, N.C.; had several children, whom some have died. Father Aaron, born Dover, N.J. June 1, 1792, son of Moses, was married January 11, 1812 at Dover, and died June 15, 1855 at Dover. His wife born Philadelphia, Pa. March 21, 1795, died at Dover?, March 7, 1864.
Aaron was a shoemaker, and carried on extensive business until he retired from business in 1840, and settled down on a farm near Dover. Served in public office several times, and active in the church, etc. etc.

Hope this helps. Best regards, Jim Sazevich
