Dear Doss Family,

Chanie Alice Doss Needham died on December 18, 2004. She was a descendant of the Joel Doss branch of the family, through Mattison, and then Carlie.

Over a period of many, many years she did a tremendous amount of research on the Doss and related families. (I don't think she ever posted online, as she did not own a computer.)

She compiled a great deal of handwritten family history. Her efforts also included the compilation of a Doss Family photo album (about 2 inches thick) that she distributed to various family members.

She died of lung cancer, after a bout with pneumonia. Her great niece Jessica was with her when she passed. She was buried yesterday in Locksburg, Arkansas, where several other family members are at rest.

She left a daughter, Dennis Needham Boles, four granddaughters, and twelve great-grandchildren.

I thought that those of you whom she collaborated with might want to know of her demise.
