Hi There long lost cousin, hope you are still out there.

My gggrandad was Thomas Guinan, brother of Valentine (and all the others you mentioned), son of Edward and Elizabeth, Grandson of Valentine Guinan and ? and Kieran Kenny and Rose Burn or Byrne ( records are all faded and in Latin, hard to read)

Edward was born in 1844/45 in Offaly, his father Valentine was born (I think) in 1819, don't know his mother yet.

Rose and Kieran were from Clonbonniff, outside Ferbane town and had Elizabeth during the Famine years. She was born in 1844 and had two sisters Margaret(1838)Josephine(1841) and two brothers Kieran(1842) and Michael (1849)

I have a little more back that far but not much...

Elizabeth and Edward married in Ferbane parish church in 1871 and had Thomas in 1875 (Valentine in 1884)

Thomas married Sarah Egan from Clonfert in Galway in 1905 and had three sons, Kieran, Edward and Thomas S. Guinan

Thomas S. married Madeleine Ryan and had two sons Joseph and Thomas M. Guinan

Thomas M.(Sr) has two daughters and three sons(Cormac, Ciaran and Thomas M.(Jr)) and they all have children (Thomas' son being of course Thomas Guinan iii !) and I am the eldest, Anne Marie Guinan

good to know you are out there...hope you get this

Missing Dooley/Dooly Bible

I am looking for the John & Emma (Williamson) Dooley Bible. John was the son of Jabez and Harmony Dooley of Bedford Co VA. The Bible was in Bedford Co until the 1970s when it was taken to WV by the Jennings Dooley family. Both Jennings and his wife, Helen appeared to have lived in McDowell CO WV. Both Jennings and Helen are listed in the SSDI as living in McDowell. Jennings died in 1975 and Helen died in 1993. After this time the Bible has disappeared. Members of this family now live in NC. Anyone knowning about the information found in this Bible and is willing to share would be greatly appreciated. Members of the Jabez Dooley family still living in Bedford Co VA are desperately seeking info on Jabez Dooley and Harmony Holdren. Thank you. Carole Lacy

Margaret Dooly, daughter of John Dooly and Sarah Jane Denbow

Seeking any and all information anyone may have on Burroughs Ross, b. 1815, KY. (note: there may be several variations in the spelling of his first name. i.e. Burris, Burrows, etc.) In the 1850 census in southeastern, IN he was counted twice, (Aug and Oct in two different locations). Four children by two different wives, Melvina Crawford and Margaret Dooly. He married Margaret Dooly, April 10, 1853, in Crawford County, IN. Who were his parents, siblings? Where and when was he born, and where and when did he die? Time of death in southeastern, IN thought to be 1856-1859. After his death Margaret Dooly married George W. Strother, May 3, 1860, Crawford County, IN and had five children with him. Any connections for you?????? Thanks for your help.
Michael

Dooly Legal Document with Abraham Lincoln as Lawyer

Hello Dooly researchers. I have finally gotten a hold of a 21 page legal sized document from Sangamon County, Illinois dating back to 1836-1839 involving the following people:

Plantiffs:
Nancy Orendorf, Elizabeth Orendorf and Sally Ann Orendorf heirs of Charles Orendorf Deceased

Against

Defendants:
William Stringfield, Rolla Stringfield, Milton Stringfield, John Stringfield, John Glascock, Sally Glascock, William Dooly, Nancy Dooly, Matilda Claypoole and Booker Preston

This document is interesting in itself and then in the middle of the court records one of the lawyers was replaced and the replacement was Abraham Lincoln the 16th President of the United States. At the time Abraham Lincoln was part of the law offices of Stuart and Lincoln.

Anyone who is interested in getting a copy of this document please contact me at kaitysmom@yahoo.com for details. I am not researching Dooly's, rather I am researching Stringfield's.

TX Doolys

I have several possibilities for you: my 3great grandfather was in Grayson Co TX by 1870. I believe he had 9 siblings; 6 of them may have outlived him. One of the 3 brothers MIGHT be father of your Robert Monroe Dooly. (These brothers were born between 1851 and 1864.) Any good guess as to when Robert was born? Second possibility: there's another line of Doolys that came to Fannin/Grayson from Missouri. If you would like more information on them, contact me and I'll give you the email address of another researcher looking into that line. I look forward to hearing from you. jlthompson@mcn.net
