Hello:

I'm searching for information that will help me locate the Irish genealogy of both James Donovan and his wife Johanna Russell Donovan.

James was born in Ireland abt 1861 and emigrated to the US about 1880. According to death records his parents were Timothy and Winifred Donovan. He married Johanna Russell about 1883. They had 5 children, with only 2 living past a young age. One child was William Joseph Donovan who was born in Albany, NY 22 Feb 1887 and the other was Josephine Loretta Donovan who was born 13 Dec 1888, location not known.

They moved to Brooklyn before 1900, as they lived there from the time the 1900 census was taken until they died (James 6 Jul 1919 and Johanna 1 Oct 1924). James worked for the Brooklyn Manhattan Transit Company and at the time of their deaths they were living at 92 Shaefer Streen in Brooklyn.

Johanna Russell was the daughter of William and Mary Walsh Russell. She was born abt 1854 and immigrated in the 1875-80 timeframe. Family stories say she had relatives on her mother's side in Philadelphia.

Any help with these folks would be greatly appreciated.
