My name is Bethany Doiron. My father is Stephen Bruce Doiron, my grandfather was Earl Joseph Doiron (died 11/75). He had three sisters that I am aware of (Drusilla, Una and Neva Doiron Allen). My great grandfather was John Danos Doiron. I am in the very early stages of trying to trace my family history. I would to keep in touch with you and see your progress and what information you find! I will do the same! The best of luck to you!

THE DIOCESE OF BATON ROUGE CATHOLIC CHURCH RECORDS, Volume 17, shows the birth of Magloire Devilliers (son of Magloire C. Devilliers and Anna Raffrey) on March 17, 1888 and baptized at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine. I colud not find a record of marriage, but Volume 18 indicates that Magloire Devillier and Gerthrude Noemie Doiron were the parents of Joseph Walter born April 28 1391, and Magloire Devilliers born January 8, 1890, both baptized in Plaquemine. Volume 18 is the most recently published by the Baton Rouge Diocese, so I have no info beyond that (1889-1891).

Hi Bethany Doiron
My cousin is Stephen Bruce Doiron, my unkle was Earl Joseph Doiron (died 11/75). He had three sisters that I am aware of (Drusilla, Una and Neva Doiron Normand). My grandfather was John Danos Doiron who lived in Brusley, LA. (I believe it means burnt because the town burned down in the 10's-in Iberville Parish - by Port Allen- across from Baton Rouge) He married to Corine Hebert(?)- there are a lot them around New Castle- Neva is a family name- I met one- until the 30's when he moved to Alexandria,LA. Check with Aunt Mary Doiron in Metarie, LA. Ted Doiron's -Earl's brother. She did some research as well as a Doiron in Brusley ( I can't remember his name at the moment) Hope you dig some more on our history--- keep me posted. As a side note, I know a Doroin - they were also from Brusley, their great Grandfather was a John Danos Doiron - they changed the spelling of their name. Stay in touch

Allen,

I spoke to Aunt Earline and found a wealth of information. Okay... This is as far back as I have been able to go. Theodore Danos Doiron married Olivia Labouve. Their children were: O'Neil (m. Odette Rabalais), Angelia, Caliste (m.W.A.Owens), Jean Baptiste Danos (m.Corrine Hebert), Theodore Wallace (m.Mabel Landry), Ann Stella.
Jean Baptiste Danos Doiron and Corrine Hebert had the following children: Benjamin, Francis Roy, Drusilla Anne, Una Germaine, Edwina, Neva Elizabeth (m. Allen Normand), Richard Benjamin (m.Edith), Theodore Danos (m. Mary Kotch), Earl Joseph (m. Dessie West), John Danos.
Of course, your mom is Aunt Neva. My grandfather was Earl Joseph. The only information that I have on Theodore Danos Doiron and Olivia Labouve is her birthdate (7-10-1850) and the date of her death (3-3-1933). I would love to see if we could find the parents of Theodore Danos Doiron. Hopefully with all the names I've lisited, someone will have one in common and may be able to tell me more. I am getting married this July. It may sound strange, but assuming my new husband's name has really inspired me to find out more about my last name. Hopefully someone can help! I look forward to anything that you may have to share.

Paul,

You mentioned that you found some good info using the Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church Records. I am living in MI now and am about to move to SC. How were you able to find the two volumes that you spoke of. Did you have to go downtown and manually searh their records or is there an easier way online? Do you have their website address if so? Good luck to you in your search by the way! Thanks for any help you may have for me.
