I have just started my family tree and I only
got back as far as Henry Doane (I think he
is from DeKalb,NY). He married Clara Thurston
from Canada and they had four kids:
Earl Wesley Doane (1891-1963)
George Austin Doane
Harry Arnold Doane (1904-1967)
Golda Mae Doane(my Great Grandmother)(1901-1994)
If any one knows any other information would they let me know.

Hi; Can you tell me when your Henry was born? My 4th great grandfather was Asenath Doane, b: 1802 in Worcester Co., Mass, and died after 1870 in DeKalb, NY. If your Henry was born between 1825 and 1837, it is possible that he is the son of Asenath. Asenath had 2 other known children - Hiram and Chauncey, but there may be many more. I am descended through Hiram. If this seems to be a possibility, you can contact me direct at Jeanne_Kline@msn.com

Hello,
I am new to the Doane board and noticed your question. I have both copies of the Doane books so I looked up your relative. The following information is listed on page 183 in The Doane family Book I. We are not related but I though the information might help you.
Your Henry Doane is in the 7th generation. From the first John Doane, your line is as follows: John, John, David, David, John, Artemas, Henry.
Your Henry's birth date is missing. Perhaps added in Book II. for Henry the following is listed: m. 1st Ursaula Tryon; m. 2nd, Sarah Alida Thurston. Ch., of 1st m. :1. Morris Henry, b. Feb 16, 1874, 2. Charles b. April 25, 1879. Ch., of 2nd. m: 3. Alfted Milton, b. Dec 17, 1882; d.Oct 8, 1888. 4> Lorena Merth, B. May 5, 1885, 5. George Austin, B. Aug. 18, 1886. 6. Earle Wesley, b. August 22, 1892.
Hope this is helpful in your ancestral search.
Anne

My grt-grt-grandfather, William C, Doane (Done), immigrated from Glouchershire, England in 1860 arriving in New Orleans, Louisiana, finally settling down in Bates County, MO.
There is a Thomas Done (Doane) buried beside him that might be his father. I have not found any information from England. I really don't know any Doane history earlier than William C. Doane in Bates County.
