Capt. Elijah Dinsmore Was originally Elijah Denbow. He was disgusted with his Salathiel Denbow's colorful exploits so he changed his name and moved north. There he founded what is now known as the 1785 Inn in Intervale (I believe it was actually 1783, but don't have the records at hand). He and his descendants (for a couple of generations) are buried out on the edge of the ridge behind the Inn.
My mother did the genealogical lines 20 years ago, but they are all packed away in boxes in Jackson.
