Really curious. Were you successful in getting in touch with Benjamin Diniro? I know this is a busy time of year. Sorry to bother you.....

I'll be very interested in what you find out. Now, just saying these next things just in case but I'm sure you have thought of them too. Since he was brought to the US very young he may not know much at all about "our" Benny, but he may know any stepbrothers or stepsisters that can fill you in more. (with their names and the name of his stepmother!) And maybe he'll at least know when our Benny died (and if possible for me when his grandfather Vincente Diniro died). I did check this number against the 1990 directory one and this phone number is different. If it does not work let me know I may be able to have someone else look it up. Anyway, good hunting.
BTW you said you would be in San Antonio over Thanksgiving, do you live in Texas? I have a good friend in the Dallas area and we live just west in NM. Good luck, Beth (yes that is my nickname for Beatrice - long story).

Okay, I have found a border crossing from 1941 that she is listed as Guadalupe Martinez Diniro. She is accompanied on that trip by Rosa Elizondo Vda de Ramos. I think that was a name that you were looking for - or at least the Elizondo.

No, found that number in on line white pages, not an old number.
Must have had a second wife. I found another entry to US under her name of Guadalupe Martinez de San Miguel that says under "who provided money" her husband Miguel San Miguel. This was in 1947. So before young Benjamin was 5 his parents had divorced, his mother had remarried and she was living in the US.
It's very possible that both "our" Benny and the mother remarried. In fact, I'm not doubting their marriage, but at this time I'm only seeing the "second" marriage for Guadalupe. Hmmm, I should be able to bring up an SSDI if she became a naturalized citizen.
Anyway, good job as you say we'll work this and see what else we can find.

I put the info into my tree and got several hits. It looks like "young" Benjamin has been in the states in San Antonio since he was 5 with his mother. No mention of his father. He married someone named Paula in 1974 and they were divorced in 1975. One hit in a directory with phone number but about 20 years old or so. Her full name was Paula A Martinez Salas. No leads on that so far and Guadalupe Martinez to generic. In the border crossing it came back Juan Benjamin Diniro Martinez (Diniro not being Mexican I think this is correct person) with mother listed as Guadalupe Martinez de San Miguel. Unknown why that reference. Thank you!
