My fathers family is from Ischia. My grandmother is a Taliercio from Barano, my grandfather a Di Meglio from Buonepanne. My grandfather is Pasquale and grandmother is Iolanda. My father has passed and my mother is very ill. I no longer have my grandparents around either, to explain my heritage. I have relatives in Ischia that speak only Italian. I never learned it. I have went there to visit them last year. It was beautiful, but I have not learned much about my heritage. It seems every store and most people there are Di Meglio, it is like saying "Do you know a Mr. Smith"? here.
