My great grandfather was Elijah Dill, b. 1822 in South Carolina. His father was Edward Dill. b. 1784 in Delaware. His father was born in Ireland. Elijah taught school and was a trial judge. He had 21 children: Narcissa, John, James, Sabina, Angeles, William, Linda, (or Lettie) Joseph, Sarah, Francis, W. Wade, Amanda, Lettie, Young Luther, Elijah, Martha, Mary, Blaine, Henry and Arthur. My grandfather was Joseph Sherman, born in Spartenburg, South Carolina.
