I just found this old message string. I am Jennie's & Angelo's Grandaughter. They had 3 children Marie, Roseanne & Frank. They have 12 grandchildren and I don't have a count on the great grand children but they include identical triplets, and they now have I think 3 great-great grandchildren. The restaurant was sold when I was a teen. It's a vfw post now. I have a lot of information on my Grandmother but not too much on my grandfather so I would love to hear from you.

Hi Toni -- I would be happy to try and help you. I need to look at the family tree and see where you might fit it.

Dibernardo is part of my husband's family. However, this branch was not from Avigliano .... but from San Martino en Pensilis.
My husband's maternal grandfather was Leo DiBernardo married to Emily Sposta. They lived in Port Chester, New York. I believe they had Sposta cousins who lived in Greenwich, CT. The Sposta family was from Avigliano.

Please tell me a little more about Angelo DiBernardo.... his family/parents and where he lived in America. Not sure I know who Rose Ann is. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Surnames: SPOSA, ESPOSITO
In another forum, someone mentioned that Sposta was originally Esposito in some families. Esposito of course comes from "exposed" - meaning children who were left at churches or orphanages when parents couldn't (or wouldn't) be able to care for them. Descendants of Avigliano have a huge presence in Waterbury, CT and in Port Chester New York. There was a recent conversation on Facebook page "Avigliano and Aviglianese".
