Hello C Lemieux, My inquiry was made in haste before I set out for Belgium to find relatives on the Dhaenens side. The mystery was to find history of ancestors and and living descendants. I did do that to some degree. My grandmother Marie was the sister of your great grandfather Alois. Their coming to America was hopeful, but turned very difficult in SD. After Eugenia died, the children or some of them were adopted, thanks for the name of this family. Joe Lemieux, I believe, is still alive in Siren WI, he is an oldtime family friend /cousin is still close to my uncle Henry and I think that Elizabeth was temporaily taken care of by my grandmother when she was middle school age. I have some of these stories contained in tapes made for us 9 yrs. ago, by Maries daugther Sister Alice Van Loo , recently deceased. There was much deprivation and sadness in their lives in SD.I met 2 other 3rd cousins in Belgium last Oct. I guess that makes us 3rd cousins, once removed ? You are my childrens generation? aged 30-40? there are several of our Dhaenens people living in Moline Ill . I would much like to know more about you, your parents, and family. I would appreciate any further contact at my email address
Linvil2003@yahoo.com. I am very interested in meeting our extended family.
