It seems that there is conflicting information out there about what religion William Devol and Isabel Anderson belonged to. In particular, there has been claims made that they were Quakers.

Clearly, this wasn't the case. They were Baptists. He got tangled up with the Puritan / Baptist controversy with Obadiah Holmes in 1650, leading to him having to flee Rehoboth for Newport. It is clear that some of the subsequent Devols were Quakers, but this first generation was certainly not.

Does anybody disagree?
