JACKSON: Wilson H. Detty, age 89 of Jackson, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Saturday, October 31, 2015.
He was born in Ray, Ohio on August 30, 1926 to the late Charles W. and Edna (Byron) Detty.
Surviving are his wife, Janice (Copley) Detty; son, Wilson Detty, Jr.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Detty.
In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was a son, Charles Detty; two brothers: Arthur and Joe Detty and three sisters: Helen Kinnison, Virginia Mosslander and Mary Detty.
Wilson was a life-long worker, holding many positions.
He worked for Globe Furnace, Throop-Martin in Columbus, Ohio, and retired he from Merillat.
He was also the owner of Wilson's Carry-Out in Wellston, OH.
Funeral service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Butch Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 3, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jacqueline Lee Stevens, 63, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Fairfield Medical Center.

She was born on January 24, 1952 in Circleville, Ohio a daughter of the late Melvin and Mary (Floyd) Detty.

Jacqueline enjoyed camping with her family, watching Lifetime also known as napping, fishing with her husband and spending time with family
.She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert Stevens of Lancaster; a son, Todd (Margie) Stevens of Bremen, Ohio; a daughter, Willie (Ernest) Smith of Lancaster; two brothers, Vernon (Bert) Detty and Henry Detty; two sisters, Mary Lambert and Jean (Gary) Bolin all of Circleville, OH; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and close friends.
Funeral Services will be held 2 pm, Friday, March 27 in the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, with Pastor Chris Reed officiating.
Friends may call Friday from 12-2 in the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster.

CHILLICOTHE: Wendell O. Detty, 74, died at 7:10am, March 13, 2015, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio following a brief illness.

He was born November 16, 1940, in Ross County, Ohio to the late James R. and Mary Evelyn (Southward) Detty.

He is survived by his sisters Jesscoetta Hawk; Bernice Duffy, both of Chillicothe, OH; and Elaine, of Texas; brothers James L. Detty and Marvin L. Detty, both of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters Gloria Miller and Von Moore.

Mr. Detty worked as a groundskeeper and landscaper.
He served his country in the US Marine Corps where he proudly completed 3 tours in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Post 108; the American Legion, Post 62; and the DAV. Wendell enjoyed cooking as a hobby.
Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 1:00pm Monday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Soldiers Square.

CHILLICOTHE: James W. Detty, 91, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died 8:11 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center
.He was born March 1, 1923, in Austin, to the late William and Edna Graves Detty.

On September 17, 1988, he married Bonita L. Harrington, who survives.

Also surviving are children, Michael (Lorraine) Detty, of Chillicothe, Paul (Tracey) Detty, of Lancaster, Ohio, Alan Detty, of Worcester, MA, Kevin (Amber) Harrington, of Ashville and Mike (Linda) Harrington, of Crandall, TX; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Kight, of Chillicothe, OH; brothers, Benton (Lucille) Detty, of Genoa, OH and Joe (Fern) Detty, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by, a great-grandson; brothers, Bob Graves, and Vance and Ralph Detty; a sister, Katherine Edwards; and a brother-in-law, Gail Kight.

James was a U.S. Army WW II veteran.

He retired in 1985 from the Mead Corporation where he had worked for 40 years. James was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 731, a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 108 and a member of American Legion Post 62.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev Jack Norman officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.

CHILLICOTHE: Rocky A. Detty, 60, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born May 5, 1954, in Chillicothe, Ohio (Ross County) to the late Rockford and Alice Withrow Detty.

On May 31, 2014, he married the former Gaynell Bliss who survives.

Also surviving are children, Danielle (Lester) Dunn-Leasure, Roxanne (Jason) Wilson, Roger Detty, Richard Detty, all of Chillicothe and Christopher (Rebecca) Pine, of Circleville, Ohio; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Michael (Jennette) Detty, Paul (Amy) Detty, David (Jodie) Gee, all of Chillicothe, Donald Malott, of Florida and Timothy (Sunny) Gee, of Tennessee; sisters, Bobbie Davis, Venita Layne, Melinda Keaton, Mary Grubb and Rebecca (Brian) Penrod; and mother-in-law, Jo Dean Bliss, all of Chillicothe, OH.

He was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Detty and a grandson, Christopher Payne.

HUDSON, FL: Kimberly Dawn Detty, 45, of Hudson, Florida, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014.

Born November 4, 1968 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Roger Eugene Detty and survived by Linda Joyce Detty.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ashleigh and Seleste Hill, both of Kentucky; a sister, Tori McMahan of Hudson, Florida; a brother, Brad Detty of Hudson, Florida; and nieces, Lexie McMahan of Spokane, Washington, and Samantha Nye of Hudson, Florida and her four children.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Log Pile Church, Vinton County, Ohio with Rev. James McFadden officiating.
Interment will be in Log Pile Cemetery, Vinton County, Ohio.

CHILLICOTHE: Katrina V. Detty, 34, of Chillicothe, Ohio died Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Adena Regional Medical Center unexpectedly.

She was born November 28, 1979, in Ross County, to Bruce M. and Sharon K. Cottrill Detty.

Surviving are a son, DeAndre A. L. Viney, of Chillicothe, OH; mother, Sharon K. Detty and companion, Gary Park, both of Chillicothe, OH; father, Bruce M. Detty and companion, Cindy Manion, both of Chillicothe; a sister, Charity N. Detty; a niece, Jhelhissa N. Detty, both of Chillicothe; and grandmother, Shirley Detty, of Richmond Dale, OH.

She was predeceased by grandparents, Clifford and Betty Cottrill and Maynard Detty.

Katrina was a former dental assistant.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Pearl "Bonnie" Lybarger, 91, of Newark,Ohio passed away on October 19, 2013 at Flint Ridge Nursing Home in Newark.

She was born on October 14, 1922 to the late Charles Stanley and Emma B. (White) Detty in Junction City, OHIO. (Perry County)

She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Billie Stemm) Lybarger, Gregory Alan (Lois) Lybarger, Willis Craig (Cheree) Lybarger and Jan Thomas (Penney) Lybarger; daughters, Judy (Bruce Britt) Zinser, Ellen Diane Burkholder and Sue Arlene (Randy) Ruppersburg; 32 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brother, George (Betty) Detty; sister-in-law, Rosie Detty; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willis C. "Bill" Lybarger; 1 grandchild; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Detty and Harry Detty; and sister, Mary Lou Clark.

Mrs. Lybarger was a Nurses Aide at Flint Ridge Nursing Home for many years.

She loved her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed gardening and flowers.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Payton officiating.

On December 12, 1966, she married Vernon W. Holton who died August 12, 1999.

Stinson's grandfather's name was William Dixon (paternal grandfather). I have never been to the New Holland cemetery nor have I been to the New Concord one either. The name of the cemetery where David Pickens Detty (Stinson's maternal grandfather) buried is called Boblett Cemetery off old Rt. 50.

have you found out any information about David Pickens Detty's (Stinson's grandfather, Frances' father) father and grandfather? I've reached a dead end with Elisha Detty b. 1865. Also, the time frame for Elijah and Elizabeth Flora to have given birth to David P. is kind of close. David's year of birth is inscribed on headstone as 1808. Records show Elizabeth was born in 1798. Do you have any information on this?

Frances married Samuel? Saltz in abt 1886 and died in abt 1889 after giving birth to their daughter.
Is Frances buried off 50 east of londonderry?

She was born April 24, 1945, in Ross County, Ohio to the late Howard and Gladys Fouty Detty.

On February 16, 1979, she married Jack R. Miller, who survives; also surviving are a daughter, Marjorie Ecton, of Chillicothe, OH; sons, William Harper, of Washington C.H. and John R. (Mary) Miller, of Chillicothe; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose (Harry) Benson, of Chillicothe and Verna Fry, of Mt. Vernon, OH; and a brother, Larry A. (Nancy) Detty, of Chillicothe.

She was predeceased by sisters, Gilberta Detty and Thelma Everhart; and brothers, Delbert, Willard, Ralph, David and Maynard Detty.

She was born January 16, 1985, in Chillicothe, Ohio (Ross County) to Edgar E. and Suzanne E. Borland Detty, both whom survive of Chillicothe.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Aaron J. Hunt, of Chillicothe; paternal grandparents, Charles E. and Geraldine Detty, of Londonderry, OH; mother-in-law, Lynda Hunt, of Columbus, OH; a brother-in-law, Kasey Hunt, of Columbus; aunts and uncles, Dale and Carolyn Gillette, of Chillicothe, Toby and Mary Borland, Robert Borland all of Chillicothe; and her dog, Penny.

She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Samuel Hunt; maternal grandparents, Robert and Rowena Borland; and an uncle, Steve A. Detty.

Ashley was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Jackson, Ohio.
She graduated Cum Laude with a BA in English.

Ashley was a former employee of Medco in Dublin, Ohio.

A celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 in the Wesley United Methodist Church, Jackson with Rev. William Goodall officiating.

SPRINGFIELD: B. Pauline (Detty) Weeks, 88, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

She was born May 7, 1924 in Ross County, Ohio, the daughter of Chancey and Myrl (Poole) Detty.

Pauline had formerly been employed with OMCO Products. She was instrumental in founding the Vernon Murphy Baseball Association, and she enjoyed doing word search puzzles.

Survivors include four children, Carol (Bill) Sharp of Silva, North Carolina, Sue (Randy) Schofield of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Micheline Kaye "Mickie" (Daniel) DeWitt of South Vienna, Ohio, and Howard Wendell "Howie" (Misty) Weeks, Jr. of Maryville, Tennessee;
ten grandchildren, C.J. (Adelcia) Parcels, Chris (Dawn) Parcels, Heather (David) Underwood, Toby (Mary) Schofield, Carrie Fischer, Nicholas Drugmand, Ashley Drugmand, Kyle Weeks, Clinton Weeks, and Jeremy Kelley, 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laura "Toot" (Ora) Davis of Circleville, Ohio and Patty Rinehart of Londonderry, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wendell Weeks in 1997; a daughter, Bonnie Weeks; brothers, Sigel Detty, Darrell Detty, Raymond Detty, Gene Detty, and Bob Detty; sisters, Elizabeth "Sis" Miller, Mary "Bon" Lynch, Grace Griffin, and infant sister, Betty Detty; and her parents.

CHILLICOTHE: Larry Mike Detty, 64, of Chillicothe, Ohio died 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born March 29, 1948, in Ross County, Ohio to the late Floyd and Mary Dunkle Detty.

On July 4, 2007, he married the former Becky Haberland who survives; also surviving are the mother of his children, Lana K. Detty, of Chillicothe; a son, Larry Mike (Diane) Detty, Jr., of Chillicothe; a daughter, Lana (Skip) Stewart, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Dana (Chad) Holdren, Felicia, Cassandra and Holly Detty and Dray and Terry Stewart; great grandchildren, Halee Belcher and Lily and CJ Holdren; a brother, Berman (Sue) Detty, of Frankfort, Ohio; sisters, Marvene Harkless, of Chillicothe, Moveita (Bill) Williams, of Chillicothe, Fran Perry, of Frankfort and Mary Lytle, of Frankfort; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers, Harry, Milton and Glenn and sisters, Charlotte Adams and Shirley Detty.

Larry was a retired carpenter and a member of the American Trap Shooting Association. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards with his friends and above all, he loved his family.

CHILLICOTHE: Chancey Levi "Bob" Detty, Jr., passed from this life Thursday, June 17, 2010.
Bob was born August 08, 1938 at Vigo, Ohio, Ross County, the youngest of the twelve children of Chancey Levi and Myrl Agnes Poole Detty.

A graduate of Southeastern High School and president of the class of 1957, Mr. Detty was employed by American Electric Power for 40 years. He began on the survey crew when the company was known as Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric and retired as an engineering technician.
Mr. Detty was a past president of the Jolly Roger Club at Smith Jr. High School, past president of the Chillicothe Cavalier Club at Chillicothe High School, member of the Chillicothe Evening Lions Club, and a member of Phoenix Fire.
Perhaps his proudest and best-loved group of which he was a member is the coffee club which meets at Grinder's restaurant every weekday morning.
He loved the call of the auctioneer and considered attending an auction to be high entertainment.
He married Rebecca Ann Leasure Detty on March 4, 1961,

He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Sigel Russell, Raymond Fulton, Gerald Eugene, Gene Tunney; and sisters, Betty Ann, Elizabeth Ellen "Sis" Miller, Grace Griffin and Mary "Bonnie" Lynch; as well as nephews, Gary Detty, James Miller and Larry Miller; and niece, Janice Miller.

Surviving are children Chancey Levi "Buzz" (Jo Ellen), Gary Douglas "Whiz" (Crystal), James John "Jay" and Robert R. He married the former Dreama Tackett who survives.

Mr. Detty had worked for the Reynolds Metal Company in the Shipping and Receiving Department. He loved his family, golf, and the outdoors.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, June 4, 2012 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Pastor Willis Tackett officiating.

Dona Detty Robinson, 74 of Bainbridge, Ohio died 10 pm Monday, March 28, 2011 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio.

She was born April 21, 1936 in Chillicothe, Ohio the daughter of the late Fulton H. and Helen Retherford Detty.

She is survived by her children, Terry Yalaty, Tanya Rice, Jill Litteral, Greta Rodriguez, Rogenia Stecker and Ted Robinson; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; brother, Dean (Sandy) Detty of ST. Petersburg, Florida.

Dona was predeceased by two sisters, Marjorie Bales and Freda Grube and two brothers, Denver and Dalton Detty.

She had worked as a colorist for Olan Mills and for OMCO of Springfield.

Dona was a member of the Bainbridge Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

Russell Detty, 82, of Pine River, died Oct. 24, 2006.
He was born in Richmondale, Ohio on Nov. 7, 1923.
During WWII he served in the Navy as a Gunner's Mate First Class.
On July 17, 1944 in Seattle, WA, he married Rosie Large.
In 1950, Russell graduated from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio with a degree in engineering.
He was happiest when he was building or repairing something and was always willing to share his knowledge as a carpenter, electrician, and craftsman.
He enjoyed country music, western movies and crossword puzzles. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Michael, in 1989.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosie, also of Pine River; his daughter, Janice of Rochester, and her son, Rusty of Minneapolis; his son, Pat and daughter-in-law Karla of Lincoln, Nebraska, and their children Donald, Tyson, Benjamin, Michaela, Alexa, Jacob, Shannon and Derek; his grandsons Chris and Randy of Baltimore, MD, and their children, Evan and Jay, respectively.

Bluffton, SC - Joy Elaine Detty Buckles, 50, wife of Joseph Buckles, died Sunday, April 7, 2003 at home as the result of a long valiant battle with cancer.

Born on June 20, 1951 in Columbus, OHIO, she was the second daughter of Hibert J. and Betty Detty.

She moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina in 1979 after graduating from Holzer Medical Center School of Nursing and Harrisburg Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia.
She worked for Dr. Hunter at Hilton Head Hospital as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

He was born March 17, 1965 in Chillicothe, Ohio (Ross County) to the late Raymond Pete and Edna Elizabeth Hollis Detty.

Craig was a former manager of the Hillsboro Domino's Pizza, and he had also worked at the former Airborne Express in Wilmington, Ohio.
He was a 1983 graduate of Portsmouth High School and had attended Shawnee State University.

Surviving Craig are his wife, Shelly Lee Fraley Detty, whom he married July 30, 1988 in Portsmouth, OH; two sons, Tyler Michael and Zachariah Christopher Detty, both at home; two brothers, Chris Detty of Hillsboro, and Mark Detty of Chillicothe, Ohio; and a sister, Cindy Hurley of Chillicothe, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, his son, Aaron Michael Detty, and his daughter, Jada Lee Detty, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Bryan Mowrey officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery.

She was born July 29, 1926 in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of Max and Luise (Dege) Zollner.

During WW II, she met the love of her life, Raymond E. Detty and on Sept. 18, 1948 they were married in Germany.

He preceded her in death May 28, 1997. Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Bridget Luise and Rick Cockrell, Chillicothe, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Lester Eldred and Heather Detty, Cambridge, OHIO, grandchildren, Tony (Leah) Detty, Tim (Heather) Detty, Jamie (Daniel) Detty, Janea Cockrell, Jenna Cockrell and a very special grandson, Carson Eldred Detty, several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, a sister, Christa Laewen, Berlin, Germany, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Jerry Detty, Chillicothe, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, a son, Peter R. Detty and a sister, Ursula Glaser preceded her in death.

Following her marriage, they settled in the Chillicothe, Ohio area and she was an employee of Mead Paper.
After raising her family, she was employed by the Main Street McDonalds and was a cook for the Roweton Boys Ranch. She was a long time sales representative for Avon Products and was well known as the "Buckeye Lady" at the Farmers Market where she sold her homemade buckeyes and baked goods.
Following cremation, a graveside committal service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 in Londonderry Cemetery with Pastor Mike Brady officiating.
Calling hours will not be observed. The FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME is serving the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Have you ever connected with anyone in your father's family? I just saw this message and I knew your father. My grandfather, James Stout was a cousin to your father. In fact, they were more like brothers because Den spent a lot of time under the care of my great grandmother, Ruth Detty Stout. I met your father several times before he passed away. I remember when he would bring gifts to us from his home in Hawaii before he moved to FL. He was a very nice man with a huge laugh. I would be happy to connect you with my mother who could share more than I know, if you are interested. Just let me know.

the new concord cementary : stinsons blood grand father is a dixon the father and three sons are buried there ralph, raymond,. the fathers first name escape me and the other sons stone . my father raymond milton dettys grandmother gave birth to stinson from dixon out of wed lock ,she was a detty ,she married a saltz had children by him , i have one pic of the half-sister to stinson .

saltz was my great grandmothers married name . my grandfather stinson s dettys mother did not marry the father . who was a dixon of new holland . great granmother is buried off 50 east of londonderry. my grandparents are buried in londonderry stinson s and stella florence detty .she was a crosby from jimtown on 327 near tar hollow whitch used to be owned by crosbys around 1864 . detty is near by on 327 . i hpoe the puzzle is fitting for you . if you need more ask, i will find out what i can . my dad is 83 , only 3 family left out of 14 . his name is raymond milton detty .
