CHILLICOTHE: James W. Detty, 91, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died 8:11 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center
.He was born March 1, 1923, in Austin, to the late William and Edna Graves Detty.

On September 17, 1988, he married Bonita L. Harrington, who survives.

Also surviving are children, Michael (Lorraine) Detty, of Chillicothe, Paul (Tracey) Detty, of Lancaster, Ohio, Alan Detty, of Worcester, MA, Kevin (Amber) Harrington, of Ashville and Mike (Linda) Harrington, of Crandall, TX; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Kight, of Chillicothe, OH; brothers, Benton (Lucille) Detty, of Genoa, OH and Joe (Fern) Detty, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by, a great-grandson; brothers, Bob Graves, and Vance and Ralph Detty; a sister, Katherine Edwards; and a brother-in-law, Gail Kight.

James was a U.S. Army WW II veteran.

He retired in 1985 from the Mead Corporation where he had worked for 40 years. James was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 731, a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 108 and a member of American Legion Post 62.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev Jack Norman officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
