I have just been browsing this site, as I am a History Undergraduate, so thought I would look up my family name as an aside.
I found your message, and as far as I know, my father's family are the only Garston Derbyshire's. What I do know about them is that they were all keen footballers, my Dad has medals etc going back to late 19th early 20thC. I know in those days garston was a small village. So I think that the garston Derbyshire's could well be my family.
